"He's always there at White Hart Land and they'll probably put him on top of that cockerel one day"

White Hart Land?

Is that where we go when we die? It sounds magical.

Cliff Jones, the Flying Welshman.Didn't matter if he was on the right wing or the left,he left the fullbacks on their backsides.Brilliant player.
Didn't have a good start as he broke his leg!....and years later they tried him as an inside forward to replace "The Ghost",John White after John was killed by lightning while sitting under a tree at a golf course. It didn't work and he went back on the wing.
Cliff was also brilliant with his head and scored many goals that way.
He was a wonderful piece of that great Spurs team of the 60's.
He deserves all the recognition he can get. So unforgettable.......

Bale's actually pretty good in the air.
Him and Ronaldo just have very little weakness in their game.

Pleasure. Mainly because doing business in Japan is murder on my lower back with all the bowing involved.

Having been a couple of times already, I can say...
Tokyo - Seriously, just go. It's a wonderful city, and it rewards you exploring as there are so many great restaurants and bars tucked away on side streets. Places to go: Ghibli Museum, Roppongi Hills (huge shoppig mall, with a sake bar and several great restaurants, and near the Tokyo Tower), Asakusa (great restaurants hidden away, a beautiful temple where they have regular festivals, the Sky Tree Tower, and the sumo stadium), Shinjuku (clubs, bars, and you can go yakuza spotting!), Imperial Palace gardens (where you can see the Emperors' plums)
Kyoto - Slight problem with Kyoto, it feels like a museum due to it not being bombed flat in the 1940s, but if you want to be a cultural tourist it's good for a weekend. Places to go: Ryoan-ji, Hikone-jo (the only surviving samurai castle)
Osaka - Only spent a day or two there, so didn't see much of the city. Great acquarium, though.
Yokohama - Errm...okay, skip there.

don't forget the Yushukan War Memorial Museum...... very interesting to get an 'alternative' view of the 2nd World War.......
I stay out of Tokyo in Narita and it has a great temple and gardens - and an awesome drinking venue known as the 'Truck'!! Karaoke included...)

Major problem getting around at first is the lack of English signs on public transport, but you soon adapt. Brilliant place.

I went to HIJMS Mikasa in Yokosuka, and their version of the events surrounding the Second Sino-Japanese War was, shall we say, a tad creative.

Then again, there's history books saying the US won the Vietnam War.

The Japanese were absolute butchers to the Chinese, prisoners of war and many more.
Like today's Muslim lunatics they were under the impression if they died in battle they were going to another place. They were....where it's very hot!!!!!
But the Japs weren't as lucky as the Muslims. No 20 plus virgins for them!
Anyway,there aren't any virgins around!!!!!?

I was thinking earlier, that there are several Championship managers who are in real danger of losing their jobs.

Dave Jones at Wednesday, Dougie Freedman at Bolton is another. I thought Nigel Clough at Derby would be ok until at least Xmas.

I was wrong, Clough has just been sacked.

Michael Sheen is practicing getting the voice right as we speak.

Any idea why Freedman walked out on palace for bolton, leaving promotion for a relegation fight.

Or should I even ask ? $$$$$$$ (no pound sign)

Its an astounding error of judgement to use your face to tackle with!

They're loaded now aren't they? Saw them play in pre-season and they looked alright. Trying to get a name change I hear, no fans.
