For what it's worth ( not much I know ) as a supporter for 48 seasons , no matter what. I don't really care IF we become Hull Tigers. I will always support the club what ever happens. To me it will still be the same team iv always supported Same owners, same players, same manager, same colours , same nickname , same stadium, same supporters. Just Hull Tigers instead of Hull City. If someone had said to me when the gates were locked at BP , or when we was rock bottom of division 4 we could have first division football, full stadium, cash in the bank , top players, a great owner and manager IF we changed our name to Hull Tigers I would have jumped at the chance after years of no money, not many fans and no hope. These are our best times ever. Name change ? I'm not bothered. Looking FOWARD to watching watching today's game. UTT
Hmmm, too easily pushed aside. The word 'always' especially when capitalised and emboldened as 'ALWAYS brooks no lesser degree of tolerance. When this is coupled with 'WILL, in relation to which viewpoint must be qualified, then I believe most readers will fairly interpret that as a closed perspective on the subject, to the point of being an instruction - implied or otherwise. To use a frequently stated argument of your own, you wrote a lot of words to say very little if that was not your intention. Like you, I agree that OLM is a useful addition to the group and that gives us closer contact, which matters. I still believe it is a necessary but futile protest, as it is all about the development potential of the stadium and surrounding area; not to mention an old man's intolerance to seemingly meaningless matters of identity in his adopted country.
Tiger filey we have 19k passholders and we have not sold our allocation yet at home despite playing our best team I have seen in 38 years playing top flight football yet walk ups don't share your view . Mr Allam should get them onside first you are only talking 2k. Could it be the name change you know what the Hull folk are like .
It's so easily brushed aside because once again, you're trying to create an argument where one doesn't exist. It's just as boring and ineffective as all the other times you've tried. My reply (that you keep quoting and I've copied again below), was quite succinct and says pretty much what you say I'm not. The rest of the words were used to try to explain it again to some sad sack with issues. Most people at least try saying something slightly different in each post. And though Filey's posted the same thing about twenty times, he didn't start off not caring...
I appreciate your honesty, although I disagree with you. I see you didn't mention the same songs. It's a bit difficult to sing Hull City FC by far the greatest team etc when you're called Hull Tigers. It may be seen as eccentric for a few seasons, or even anti Allam, but after that we'll just look stupid, especially to a worldwide audience that does know our history. We'll not have the same supporters as Hull Tigers. A number of people have sent their season passes back, not sure how many, but I know of a couple. I know more people who didn't go to the Huddersfield Town match because they didn't want to pay any more money into the club. I know even more people who are considering not renewing if we become Hull Tigers in April. These people weren't replaced at Huddersfield judging by the attendance, they may be replaced next season. With most of your other points I agree. If Assem Allam hadn't mentioned Hull City Tigers or Hull Tigers we'd have spent the last five matches talking about our chances of staying up, what great football we're playing etc etc. Instead we're predominantly talking about our name. Sad isn't it? As Steve Bruce said its in our DNA not to do things the easy way.
Think there is a bug with Twitter at the moment as the number of followers of that new account has stalled, but would be very surprised if it gets past the number that signed the petition.
Nonsense.... you're talking about our reserves playing against a championships reserves in a competition that nobody cares about. Poor attendance had nothing to do with the name change.
Good, lets get rid of these plastic, if their support of this club is so shallow then we don't want them.
Yes...OLM as a self appointed representative of the views of this board, i request that your plan of action is for ALL protesters to show how strongly they feel about the protest and all hand their season tickets back.
I'm a self appointed representative of the views of myself, though I will keep this board updated. Anything your in favour of, I'm going to be inclined to be against. Mainly because you're a moron.
Yes, I'll trade lists with you if you like. You strike me as someone who does nothing about everything - an apolitical.
