It's basically pissing off your core customers to attract undiscerning new ones (with no guarantee of a successful outcome). Crazy business rebranding practice just as our brand goes global. Do Red Bull or Coca Cola rebrand themselves in new territories? Louis Vuitton? S&N? McDonalds? Adidas? No.
I'm sorry but how can any proper City fan even entertain the idea?? Hull City Tigers ffs, I cringe every time I read it. Since when did we become an American High School football team?
Why are people actually not bothered about a name change? It's a horrific idea. 'Hull City Tigers' sounds bad, and would eventually lead to 'Hull Tigers' which just sounds awful for a Football club. This idea need throwing out the window, and quick.
I can live with the Club dropping the AFC bit and the 'the' from 'the tigers' on the club badge to bring it up to date if they so desire but the first time the Club send me anything in the post with just Hull Tigers on it, I'll be sending it straight back to them with a strongly worded response.
It would indeed make us a laughing stock. It would also not improve our income, if anything, it will reduce it. Success and good football are the only things that will grow the club, forgetting our heritage and is completely self defeating, it's the history and heritage that fans in other markets would want to buy in to.
It's a ****e idea, and it's even more ****e that they can't admit that they're doing it. "It's just Assem's pet name" It's not though is it?
as long as its XI vs XI and the club exists I really don't give a **** .. its in hull .. we are the tigers ... so whats the ****ing problem ..
It must be crap to be from Bolton or Wolverhampton as well. Not to mention all those dogs from Donny, Brizzle and Blackburn....
It's too late. The chief exec of MKM is already down with it. Or perhaps someone is making up his quotes âHull Tigers is such an important part of the fabric of the city and we value our relationship with the club highly, which is why we have chosen to extend our sponsorship." http:// http://www.hullcityafc.net/news/article/201314-mkm-extend-sponsorship-907414.aspx
WTF - must be Pappa Allam inspired - MKMs directors can't surely be so up to speed with it. And to think I've been calling Geraghty a baffoon. Change of name by stealth - will never happen.
