Typical Premier League fan over reaction, as soon as someone does well they're automatically the best in the world. I bet even Baines would say he's not on a par with Lahm (yes I know Pep is playing him as a deep lying midfielder).

It's this kind of attitude that made Rooney the most overrated player in history.

You really should know what you're on about before posting, ffs.

Lahm is a RB. And he's the best RB in the world. People consider him a LB because he can play both, but he is a RB.

    This simply isn't true.

And for those mentioning FLS order, that is decided by league position before the weekends play.

I made this point not long after being promoted and it's shown to be true, especially on MOTD and Soccer Saturday.

I know full well what Im on about. Lahm has played most of his career left back whilst being right footed. I was watching him play when you hadn't been alive for double figures.

You're the one criticising me despite you claiming someone who is completely average as being 'the best in the world in his position'?

No he hasn't - for the last 4 or 5 seasons he has been RB at Bayern.

Also, 'completely average'? Baines has been a great player for years - he's been in the PFA Team Of The Year 3 seasons running, and is frequently mentioned when people ask who the best left backs are.

No point continuing this argument... I did say people would disagree, and that it was my opinion only, but hey....

Yeah, and so has Rooney despite being completed overrated for his entire career. it doesn't mean it's true.

I bet if you asked the managers of the top 50 world national teams who the best left back in the world is not a single one would name Baines.

So? It's my OPINION. Look it up in the dictionary sometime.

No point continuing this argument... I did say people would disagree, and that it was my opinion only, but hey, someone had to have a go...

Baines is a mod, he is therefore, untouchable.

Another thing - just because a player is overrated, that doesn't mean he's ****e. Many older fans say that Messi and Ronaldo are overrated when compared to players like Pele and Maradona - does that make them ****e?

Rooney scores goals, a lot of goals. He's Man Utd's 3rd highest ever goalscorer. He's usually around the high end of the top scorers in the league, so he rightly should be in the 'Best Prem XI' if he has scored and assisted loads.

Yep Baines is one of the good guy footballers and is a very good left back, I still think Ashley Cole is better than him though. Also, Lahm has been playing CM for Bayern this year.

The way you posted, you insinuated that he was pretty poor.

Anyways, like I stated, it's my opinion. You have yours and I have mine. But to say Baines is average is just poor, sir.

Back to MOTD, and it was nice to see a bit of praise from those three. Also, Football Focus might be worth watching next week if I ain't already set off for the game.

Neither Rooney or Baines are average or overrated. Both are very very special players. Take the set pieces away from Baines and he's still absolutely class.

Rooney is just quality, he can do everything, and at one time or another I think he's played just about everywhere other than centre half - a sign of a good player. It looks like his heads in it again this season, lets see how he does.

Cole was, he seems to have lost a bit of something this year.
