Hopefully that will calm a few people down who are expecting Sunderland to just keep spending on fees and wages.

It must be a nightmare attracting top players here ...... we're not an attractive club tbh.

The players we have now are a dream for those of us who trudged to Aldershot, Chesterfield and Southend in the 3rd division.

Beaten at home by Walsall the other day ...... Bolton floundering, Sheff Utd all over the place, Portsmouth in the ****, Coventry locked out of their ground, Boro going nowhere.

We could be any of those clubs yet there are some supporters who can never see the big picture.

They whinged when they wanted promotion to the 2nd division then whinged when they wanted promotion to the 1st division.

They whinged when they wanted a run in the top league and now they're whinging because we're not signing the right kind of internationals.

FFS, people want to give their heads a shake ........ just get out, support the Lads and sing your heads off.

Did you see the arab prince who's bought Sheff Utd at their game at Rotherham the other day?

They scored first and ended up getting beat 3-1.

Methinks a Premiership title is some time and much money away for our red and white brethren...

There are loads of clubs like them and Forest and ******* who are struggling for credibility.

Look at Newcastle ....... they've had much better chances, than us, to win major trophies, spend huge amounts of money and attract top players.

They've not won a current major trophy since the 1950's.

We lost the first 4 games in the championship about 7 seasons ago but we got promoted, with Borini and Fletcher we can turn things around, but the defenders have to get out of the area and push up more. Selling sess was bad and we should have got Mcmanaman in from Wigan. Let us get behind the team and manager 100 % yet again, but we need points away from home before next year.

I think all of us are entitled to have a bit of a moan at losing 3 out of the first 4 games of a season that promised far better though and that also saw a rank and file overhaul of playing staff? None of us expected immediate return but I bet not one of us expected to be rock bottom on 1 point after 4 games either. However, discussing it and not liking it doesn't diminish in any shape or form our support or our loyalty to have such a debate. Its called caring about a shared passion. Something we all agree on.

And yes, I too travelled to some tiny grounds in the late 80's in that 3rd division campaign (missed 2 games, both away, all season that season too). I spent a good 18 years of my early life following the lads home and away and don't regret any of it. I have watched some of the direst football ever seen and some of the worst footballers ever to play the game and yet I don't have any jealousy towards the Manchester Utd's and Liverpool's of this world. I wouldn't swap supporting Sunderland AFC for any amount of trophies or glory. I only want whats best for my club. Our club.

All I want is after almost 40 years of watching this stunning mediocrity and utter garbage to actually see us not be the bottom club all the time; not be the brunt of jokes and speculation about being a relegation haunted club ever year and above all, I want to be respected as a football club not just for having some of the best and most passionate fans in the world.

My feelings at the continual failures here often get misconstrued by one or two as just moaning or whinging but for me is just born out of the frustration and bitter disappointment of hearing new regimes promise change only to have the same old failures resurface time after time.

So yes things are infinitely better than the 80's and yes we do have better players but then why are we still bottom and still failing? This thread asks the very valid question about what if? What if we turn it round? What if we don't? Will it be 4 straight defeats in 5 games or will it be our first win and kick start the season?

If that makes me a whinger or a moaner then so be it.

Better to have dual standards than none at all such as yourself? Just for the record, PDC has a worse record than MoN? When will you begin to question that or is that double standards too?

Hypocrite would be the least offensive comment I'd make your way chump.

Why do you always want to act the martyr ...............you never pass up the chance to whinge and moan about people calling you a whinger and moaner.

You even started a 'martyr thread' yesterday, thinly disguised as a 'Come on Sunderland' thread, so people would come on and post nice things about you.

Everyone has the same hopes & fears as you so why keep putting yourself up as anything different?

When it gets to the point where you create a thread about your own 'internet persona' you know it's time to stand back and try to get a grip on reality.
