He's a professional athlete FFS. Fact is he is an international player, so therefore something is made of it. I know I am an old fart on these matters, but IMO, he has behaved very naively at the very least. I like the player, but my goodness he has confirmed that most footballers are thick.

Thats a bit of a non argument imo tots, thats just the way it is. If the meaningless public are doing this legal gas, what kind of story is that?, nothing, its a non event, but if any celebrity or public figure is caught of course something will be made of it. If it were Kate Moss or a soap actor the result would be the same, an England player would fall into this category. Kyle would have been advised about media portrayal and the fact just about everyone has a camera phone, yet still he makes his decision.

Just me, or is it mildly amusing Bale's dream debut, and I'll bet he's been having a few dreams!...could be at LB! it may have to be given consideration depending on how Coentrao and Marcelo respond to their injuries.

That was before Coentrao got injured the other night. Its not me putting 2 n 2 together, it was mentioned on SSN. What also has come out, is that CR7 has been assured his place, his position, his free to do what you like role will not change. Can't have two like that in the side, so I'd preempted this a while ago that Bale will have to play disciplined roles for RM, whether that suits him we'll see.

as far as i'm aware Carlo said that today, after the rumour about Bale playing LB because a journo asked him where he would be playing.

    12.28 today on bbc sportsday:

Gareth Bale will play some part for Real Madrid against Villarreal on Saturday, manager Carlo Ancelotti has confirmed.

Ancelotti refused to confirm whether or not the Wales international will start at El Madrigal, but did say: "Bale will travel to Villarreal and will play.

"I'm not sure if he will start or come off from the bench." When asked about where he would play, he added: "On the right hand side of attack."

You are right in his overall plan, like you, I had already heard that Bale will be on the right, at the expense of di Maria by my reckoning, who'll be starting the Villarreal game there. As i said in my previous posts the LB idea was bandied about early this morning, the news on the two FB's may have been more encouraging since, I don't know. Anyway, enough about him. :)

Sandro, the new Benny. Just without the occasional defensive horror show.

Pegged back by another ex-Spurs player, somewhat ironically. Dos Santos earns a 2-2 draw for Villarreal.
    Goals by our cast-offs... <whistle>

Keeper won't be happy to have failed to deal with that one, especially when he's already under so much pressure.

It might look an easy goal but you have to run in to that position to be able to score!

bigsmithy, just how difficult was it to run into that position? It was a doddle of a goal a blind man could have scored.
