now Hansen's going MoTD should get rid of the rest of them, and show more highlights, their analsysis section bores me ridgid.if anyone is intrested,Sutton United are holding one of their gentlemens evenings on Friday November 1st.I'm mentioning this because the guest is the Ledendgery Pat Jennings!,the greatest ever Spurs keeper, IMO
does anyone know where that picture of Bale with the guy that looked like Steed Malbranque was posted. He was wearing swimming shorts rolled up so it looked like a tutu. Can't find it.
Hansen's the best pundit they have - which may be damning with faint praise given Shearer is on the sofa...
All jokes aside, Hansen is actually a decent pundit, he knows what hes talking about and will spot things most on this forum don't see, its not the same without him on MOTD.
They need to move with the time. As much as i hate to say it i think GNev has shook up the punditry world. Carragher not so much.
Its become dated hasn't it, the three pundits sitting around the table, I noticed on MOTD2 they all of a sudden walked over to a screen and tried to do a Sky sports style tactical analysis of the game, although having a laughing host (who resembled that gigity guy from family guy) and a stiff looking shearer possibly meant it wasn't the best idea!
Slightly off-topic but still on the punditry, i watched some rugby on BT sport last night and as part of it they had 2 amateur packs in the studio and they got them to demo things which martin bayfield and lawrence dallaglio chatted about it. Having never understood the foibles of the scrum (i played 2nd row a few times, lol) i thought this was a great idea as most of the other rugby players/fans i know don't understand it either. The only ones that seem to get it are the props, understandably. I thought that was a refreshing innovation into punditry and while i don't think anything in football is complicated enough to go to such measures it would be good to see MOTD change it up a bit like that. Or just forego the pundits and show more football
Neville makes it interesting, like Hussain does with cricket, giving proper insight and analysis beyond the usual knowledge, understanding and observation of your average armchair viewer. Hansen is old school, but I always thought he was OK, even if he is ex-Liverpool. And strangely my missus didn't mind MOTD being on the tellybox when he was on.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-hampshire-23972127 Ali Dia Gareth Bale Kevin Keegan Some bloke played for them in 1949. Is he still alive? Must realistically be mid-80s at least. Quite an achievement to get all those signatures. Fans in the true sense of the word.
Seeing a decade of 'Pool bias (Lawro and Hansen) flee the BBC is a recognition that 'Pool's glory days have gone. We will finally get a more balanced view of the Prem.
wonder if they have Paul Telfer's who count Saints as one of the teams he played for.He was one of two FA Cup finalist's on show at Sutton United on Saturday, playing for Sutton at R/B,at the age of 40!,the other was Matt Lawrence who Captained Millwall in the 2004 FA cup final,he was playing for Whitehawk on Saturday.
I'd say this one was better than Beckhams, its a much flatter trajectory, not sure how he generated the power.

Brazilian team masseur keeps ball out of goal Brazilian Série D club Aparecidence's masseur sneaks onto the pitch during a cup match to block two attempts on goal from opposition side Tuti. The team staff member's efforts were enough to keep the game tied at 2-2, sending Aparecidence through to the semi-finals on away goals. Tuti is reportedly appealing to get the result overturned
Is it worth a thread on "pundits who are really quite good"? I agree on LDLs examples. Would add Michael Johnson for athletics and McEnroe on tennis (though I detested him as a player). The BBC are quite good at finding those who might make good pundits, and must have something going for them if they would rather work for the BBC than some US network (I doubt it's the money).
Yeah, start a thread. After all, there's f**k all football going on. I love McEnroe. The best commentator in any sport - always worth listening to.
My thoughts on tennis. Should Williams brothers be playing the men? With Serena's build she is as big as Mike Tyson...looks like him too! No wonder a lady like Maria S has problems with her (him!). Is she on steroids,I wonder?
