Enormous pressure being put on Lambert for this next game, I'm not too happy about it.

That's the cloud to go with the silver lining.

Hodgson picked five strikers. He's left with a withdrawn Rooney, a suspended Welbeck, an injured Sturridge, a half-fit Defoe...

...and Rickie Lambert.

I'm sure he can't wait for it. He's been working his whole career to play in this sort of game.

I suppose so, It just seems as though all the hope of a result in Ukraine is resting on him. As bizarre as that is to type.

International Round-Up:

Artur Boruc - Played 90 minutes as Poland drew 1-1 with Montenegro.
Maya Yoshida - Played 90 mins in a 3-0 win over Guatemala.
Dejan Lovren - Played 90 mins for Croatia in a 1-1 draw with Serbia.
Steven Davis - Played 90 minutes as Northern Ireland lost 4-2 against Portugal.
Dani Osvaldo - Suspended for Italy's game against Bulgaria.
Rickie Lambert - Played 70 minutes for England, scoring once, with two assists in a 4-0 win against Moldova.

Gastón Ramírez's Uruguay don't kick off for a few more hours. Victor Wanyama's Kenya play on Sunday.

Loaned-out Emmanuel Mayuka also played a full 90, as Zambia lost 2-1 to Ghana.

Fans phoning in to BBC 606 complaining that Lambert was taken off for Milner.

Also saying how impressed they were.

BBC asked if Lambert should start against Ukraine. England fans seem overwhelmingly in support of it.

That is bizarre, Rickie can't win the game on his own?? If the England team put in a performance I'm pretty sure Rickie will more than play his part.

Artur did England a favour, made a couple of good saves to stop Montenegro winning. Group table...
