Pretty unlikely, but I'd be delighted! Always said he's a good player. Great partnership with Rickie, shame about the ludicrous suspension.

Now I've taken the time to really watch him, I'd have him at Saints in a heartbeat.

Enormous pressure being put on Lambert for this next game, I'm not too happy about it.

That's the cloud to go with the silver lining.

Hodgson picked five strikers. He's left with a withdrawn Rooney, a suspended Welbeck, an injured Sturridge, a half-fit Defoe...

    ...and Rickie Lambert.

I'm sure he can't wait for it. He's been working his whole career to play in this sort of game.

He'll thrive on it, just hope all around him don't implode.

I suppose so, It just seems as though all the hope of a result in Ukraine is resting on him. As bizarre as that is to type.

Fans phoning in to BBC 606 complaining that Lambert was taken off for Milner.

Also saying how impressed they were.

BBC asked if Lambert should start against Ukraine. England fans seem overwhelmingly in support of it.

I see France only managed a 0-0 and Holland just managed to draw with Estonia with a 93rd minute penalty....

That is bizarre, Rickie can't win the game on his own?? If the England team put in a performance I'm pretty sure Rickie will more than play his part.

Artur did England a favour, made a couple of good saves to stop Montenegro winning. Group table...

I think The Owl may give Agbonlahor or Bent a call up if Sturidge is still not fit.
