Hull City AFC Says Stan:5311926 said:
Well, Clarkie's now aiming to extend Shane Long's contract (to avoid him leaving on a free next summer?), so we might well see how the land lies.....
think a new contract will help make shane feel wanted. How must the guy feel. Oh by the way i want to sell you to hull, then they end up calling him back because they couldnt get their main targets. Lets hope sb keeps tracking him, and he can play for a club who wants him he will do ok here.

Lets hope that Steve Bruce had a few good words with him on monday before he went back to Dublin and maybe the likes of Brady - Meyler and McShane can keep the good words going in our favour.

The best thing that Long could say to WBA next week is that he has no intention of signing a new contract with them. Long wont be short of suitors.

You offered way above his real price. Clarke was forced to accept it.

Just as WBA did when they signed him. He started the season well at Reading and WBA needed a striker, WBA then had to pay over the top to secure his services.

Just to think, if we had of spent just one more million, the world would have been ours. :emoticon-0114-dull:

I think Long will put pen to paper on a new deal in no time. I'm fairly sure that's why it fell through, with him having contract discussions with West Brom we probably expected his wage to be one thing when in fact he's wanting the amount he'd have been gettin on his new deal.

If he doesn't sign a new deal in the next two months, I reckon he's ours for £2m in Jan.
True enough, but the way we've started, I think we'll still be in the mix in Jan.

Agreed. With Wba losing out on millions. Plus, With the ROI about to blow there WC hopes he wont have to worry about International games for a while either.

As for City, on current form wont have any relegation worries. Mid-table obscurity and cup fever will take over. <whistle>

O/T...how the feck Pilkington gets into the ROI team ahead of Robbie Brady beggars belief. Trappartoni your time is now up. <ok>
