You're going to have a job fitting all that pie in your mouth once Ozil shows what he can do for Arsenal.
If you can't be positive about us signing a World Class player like Ozil then you'll find it impossible to be positive about any signing. Youwait your 2 months of negative worrying and i'll enjoy him being here And as far as unfit, unstable and stamina issues - if he does anywhere near aswell for us as he has for Madrid over the last 3 years then i don't care if you deem him unfit. He has been consistently performing for a long time now and at such a young age that shows incredible mental strength.
a) Yeah he will. b) Yeah we did, we failed to create enough chances in several games last season. We needed another creative player. c) He's better than Santi, not taking anything away from Cazorla who is a fantastic player but Ozil is in the bracket just below the messi/ronaldo level with Iniesta, Falcao etc..
Seriously, Ramsey could get nearly that many assists for that Real Madrid team. How hard is it to pass the ball to Ronaldo? I'm basing Ozil's stats on his time at Schalke and Bremen, because it's much more relevant to us, and what it shows is an inconsistent player, who fails when the going gets tough.
If you take away all of Ozil's assists that where for Ronaldo last season he still has more assists than any player in our team.
Because we'd have a lot more assists if our striker wasn't awful. a better striker = more goals = more assists.
It was hardly sublime. Any international striker should be expected to score those, especially given the quality of the ball into him.
Suggest you watch it again, the touch was exquisite and was the only place he could have put it to beat their best player on the day, Hugo Lloris please log in to view this image
I'm sorry, but all i'm seeing is an exceptional ball in from Theo, that any striker worth their salt should score.
Ronaldo seems to think he did a good job getting the ball to him, Mourinho seemed to think he was the best No 10 in the world, and a whole bunch of professionals from Arbeloa to Zidane seem to think he is one of the very best in the world. I just can't understand how you can come on here and spout this **** and expect anyone to take you seriously about anything. I really want to ask the mods about how way out there an opinion has to get negatively, before it becomes a wind up.
Not sure if anyone's already posted this, I thought it was an interesting read http://www.arsenalvision.co.uk/articles/4370-how-arsenal-landed-oezil.html
His time at Shalke ended when he was 18-19 years old (yep great indication of how he will perform given that since then he has played at two other teams, won the german cup and super cup, spanish league, cup and super cup and played in a european cup final, plus his international career - im sure he didnt gain anything in that time). And he had broken into there first team and was touted the next big thing. He was only with them for a season and a half. In his time at Bremen he had a good time of it. He scored the winning goal in there german cup win. He was a key player in there run to the UEFA Cup final. In his first full season he scored 3 goals in the league and 15 assists (5 goals overall not sure how many extra assists in cup games). Thats at 19-20 years old. Then in his last season he got 9 goals and 17 assists in 31 league appearances (11 goals toal and again i can't find how manyextra assits). Good enough form combined with his impressive International performances earned him his move to Madrid. The last 5 years which he has great (unrivaled) stats include 2 seasons at Bremen. So if your going by that you should be very optimistic
The way he hit it in his stride with the outside of his leading foot, deceiving Lloris in the process and finding the back of the net, demonstrates that it was a sublime goal
There was a very small space available for the ball to go in if you look at it from a better angle, with how close the tackle was, and he was on the side where using his better foot was very difficult. That is a class finish anyway you look at it.
Even better was the movement that made it possible for him to get to the ball first. Not directed at you Piskie, but some people watch a game and miss half of it I swear.
Or become so entrenched in their views about our players being 'awful' that they can't admit when they do well.
