Real are fools for selling Ozil. But then again, I couldn't give a damn about them, let the fools suffer.
I love this article, I realy hope it's right and that this is a milestone signing http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/fo...ne-phone-call-from-manager-Arsene-Wenger.html
Ãzil will certainly add stature to Arsenal. The message on Tuesday was that this was just the beginning and tangible evidence of a new era at Arsenal of permanently enhanced financial firepower. Most importantly, it is a signing that has prompted a shift in the narrative that surrounds the club. Staff at the Emirates on Tuesday were excitedly calling it a ‘Bergkamp’ moment. From regularly selling some of the world’s best players over the past three years, Arsenal have become a buying club again.
Soon after the deal was clinched, Jürgen Klinsmann sent Ãzil a message telling him that Wenger’s Arsenal would be the perfect fit. Looks like he's getting his sense back after playing for Spurs.....
In many ways this window has been very good. The wage bill was cut considerably, no star players left, some much needed new additions came in, the club bought the 'world class', 'marquee' signing people have been clamouring after, and the club proved it was not only willing to pay competitive prices in terms of transfer fees but in wages also. The squad is still too thin but we'll see how that pans out over the season. Competing in all four competitions (or three, if Wenger decides to play more youth in the League Cup again) might well prove too difficult still.
We can thank Spurs for Ozil, madrid had to balance the books after paying that absurd fee for Bale. Anyone read the story about Levy tryi g to stop the deal by phoning Perez. What a scum bag!
The usual lad once again got there before everyone with creating a chant for your new signing.
Talking of Chelsea anyone see Mouinho's comments on Ozil?.. "There is no copy of him â not even a bad one. He is the best number 10 in the world. He makes things very easy for me and for his team-mates with his football vision and the decisions he makes. Everyone loves him and sees a bit of Luis Figo and Zinedine Zidane in him." Also... "We didnât accept Arsenalâs offer for Demba Ba because the signing of Ozil makes them title contenders."
If i was Demba Ba i'd be so pissed off. With Torres and Eto'o both big personalities who will expect game time, and Mourinho showing he was happy to let Ba go suggesting he doesnt see him in his plans, he will struggle to even get game time on the bench. Whereas he had the option to compete with Giroud and get more game time at another CL club (Arsenal) in the same city so it wouldn't effect his personal life. Mourinho's fear of us competing for the title has meant they will pay a player to not play football this year.
I would expect us to bring a striker in during the winter transfer window. It may even be easier and cheaper to get one in, with players knowing they're going to have Ozil feeding them.
Sergio Garcia (golfer): “How could they have let this happen – paying £100m to sign someone to replace Ãzil from a club nobody’s heard of? They are crackers in the head.”
How come I'm a ****** for thinking Arsenal are contenders, but he is a genius who is going to make the difference and make Chelsea win?
