Do we even know the papers got his release clause right? I said linked to (not first choice), and they were very obviously linked to Fellaini, and were interested in him even in previous seasons. We got Ozil, in a position we weren't in need for the most, without being linked to him and without Wenger indicating that it's a position he wants to strengthen. There's far more basis to say that our transfer was conciliatory in a way when things weren't going our way in more needed areas, and the transfer season as a whole less organized than even United's.
I think after yesterday's shenanigins you can safely say our transfer window was far more organised than Man Utd's P.S. Everton were quoted as saying there was a release clause for Fellaini
I think you need to revisit the squad that they have. Their midfield is simply outstanding and can match any midfield in creativity and power. They have the most complete midfield in the world. Lets look at their central midfield lineup: Toni Kroos Bastian Schweinsteiger Mario Götze Javi MartÃnez Thiago Alcântara All of these players are either long standing first teamers or the future players of the 2 best International midfields in the world. Saying that we have a very fine midfield, but they are better.
Tony Barrett ‏@TonyBarretTimes 3h By immediately disclosing Fellaini's fee Everton basically ran Ed Woodward's undies up a Goodison Park flagpole to celebrate their victory
We could possibly be going into the Sunderland game with this midfield/attack: -----Ramsey----Wilshere------ -Walcott----Ozil-----Cazorla-- -----------Giroud------------- It's hard not to be excited at the prospect, especially considering the red hot form of Ramsey and Giroud
Very true - he had a good second debut It's weird to think that Arteta might not slot back into the team so easily once he's back from injury. After all, there were comments on here saying an injury to Mikel would spell disaster for the season, yet Rambo has stood in for him with aplomb.
Wenger has a history of keeping a player in the team who is in possession of the shirt.I said on another thread, remember what happened to Gilberto Silva when Flamini took his place. On current form I think Wilshere's place is most at risk
You'd certainly want to take fewer risks with him at the moment considering his fragility as well. Again though, what a luxury - being able to rest Wilshere from the midfield and be fully content with the quality of his replacement.
Striker, we were after at the beginning of August. http://metro.co.uk/2013/08/07/arsen...striker-ciprian-marica-reveals-agent-3915591/
I had a look about him on Wiki.Susposedly both Lazio & Inter were interested in him.He might be worth a gamble if available
Too late but a bid for my namesake would have worked. 4mn euros to get him right? Already got 2 goals and an assist in 3 La Liga games plus he plays across the front 3, would take him in Jan.
He's happy where he is. I very much doubt he would want to come back to us. Our style of play doesn't suit him plus he just isn't cut out for the EPL. I still think he's a great player and La Liga is more suited for him. He had numerous opportunities at Arsenal but he just didn't cut it.
