Ah, you don't get it, do you. It's a parody he's playing. The joke is himself and ourselves. The bigoted attitude is the joke, and it is extremely cleverly done. I find him hilarious because on the one hand Murray shows us the bigoted attitude of certain people we know, but then he'll throw in an observation that is true, or is it..? Is it one's personal bigoted attitude or is it a true observation..? The Pub Landlord is a sharply observed character, and I don't whether Al Murray will ever top him. Absolutely brilliant."The Pub Landlord" is a character?...well whoever knew?......It maybe clever and well observed...BUT it's just not that funny, where are the jokes?. If I wanted to see a middle aged man crassly insulting other cultures I'd just watch Top Gear. On the occasions where I have seen him on TV as himself he just tries so hard to be amusing by acting the fool, it would be better if he was more natural.
