I'm getting really confused about the whole loan rules. I suggested looking abroad for a forward on loan but OLM said were only allowed 2 loans (which we've filled). Now we can potentially sign Gedo on loan even though we've filled both spots? Anyway the thought of bringing back Gedo is so underwhelming.
Well as i said when I first heard this - I won't have to rename the penguin I bought in the shop after seeing Gedo score last season
Im more than happy to see Gedo back at city but I hope its only to replace the likes of Fryatt and or Prozzy... I still hope we're in for a quality forward who is better than anyone we've got, as Bruce says this is what he's looking for...
Absolutely what we are looking for. Young, fast, direct, aggressive, puts the ball in the net with head and feet. Some people on here seem to have very short memories of how impressive he was before his foot injury hampered his mobility. As for Bruce not being impressed that's total b/s. He expressed the opposite opinion on several occasions. As for unproven at this level...of course he is...he's never played in the Prem. But he was a star for Egypt in the Africa Cup of Nations which is no walk in the park and scored several key goals. He wants to be at Hull. He would cost little. Grab him SB!! Would far rather have him than Fryatt, Proschwitz, McLean.
But we need someone who's proven at this level thats the whole point isnt it?? No walk in the park maybe, but that doesnt make him good enough for the PL
Some good points made: He wants to be here, he has a point to prove, seems to have worked hard to ensure he is fit for deadline day and his attributes mean he can play either the main striker role or the 'Aluko' role just behind a main striker, which then gives us options without having to move Brady out of position.
Maybe, but is he the answer to our goal scoring problems? I dont think he is, i dont think he's better than Aluko or Graham. Ive not seen enough of Sagbo to have an opinion on whos better. We need a striker thats better than our first choice strikers not just better than our reserves
Here's the Premier and Football League rules on loans. Scroll down to number 53, standard, emergency and youth loans. It's too long to copy and paste. See if anyone on here can make head or tail of it http://www.football-league.co.uk/regulations/20130704/section-6-players_2293633_2125731#53
Maybe he was always gonna be a loan target and that's why he recovered here? It would also help sell merchandise over in Egypt.
If you can have 2 international loans, I presume he is still looking at someone else abroad as well, who we haven't heard about. Raul anyone?
At least Raul still plays like, albeit in Qatar... Okay then... how about someone like Juve's Quagliarella? He was linked with a move away from Juve to Norwich, and he has fallen out of favour due to the signings of Llorente and Tevez. Being a follower of Juve, I can tell you that he would be fantastic albeit very unlikely acquisition. That example is obviously more in hope than anything - it was more an example of what is available out there.
Chuffed with this, thought he was class. Don't understand the people saying he's gash, he's the most natural goal scorer I've seen at city since Fraizer Campbell. We now have little, large and somewhere in between.
Instinctive finisher with ten times more pace than any other striker we have, runs in behind the defence and pressures the opposition when not in posession. He will not cost us much and is definitely useful to have in the squad, we have no game changers on the bench currently.
