Real shame but he can leave having gave us plenty of memories.

Class player. It's a shame he's gonna end up at a Qatari team but oh well, take the money and get a class cm and a forward to replace him.

Now we're left with Ji who's confidence is as good as gone

    An unfit Steven Fletcher

    A 20 year old striker

    And Altidore

I would hope it's more than 5m as we need to replace him but could use the money to get a cm in

Very possible, although it could also be that Sessegnon doesn't want to leave and when he found out he was moving to Qatar... Lost the plot hence drink driving.... Ofcourse the propaganda machine will have you believe its all Sessegnons fault/manipulation.

We will be losing a player who is able to win a game (0-3), but also losing a player who is very inconsistent.

My father taught me a long time ago that everything in the world was worth the same thing: Whatever someone was willing to pay for it.

I don't buy he wants to leave, the biggest issue for Sess was always getting his family settled and they now live over here I think, he's hardly going to want to uproot them again now.

He's always said in the media he is happy at sunderland including this summer. Money can't be that much of a motivator seeing a he took a pay-cut to move here.

This smacks of the club forcing him out to raise funds for other areas. I think this will bite us on the arse big style this season.

I agree that he doesn't want to leave... Maybe he has known since the beginning of the season? Who knows... If the truth is that he knew about this before the beginning of the season then we will be losing a top top player. If his form has been poor for reasons other than knowing he was being pushed out, then he won't be such a miss. I suppose it's unlikely we will ever know the truth.

£5 million isn't enough for Sessegnon as far as I'm concerned. We also need to bring in a high quality replacement or the squad becomes much weaker.

Sorry mate gonna have to disgree with you here, if he knew he was going and as somebody else said his family is settled then surely he would have been busting a gut to stay or using his game time in the shop window.

The reported £68k pw off the wage bill is worth more to us than £5m imo and a player without position and getting on most posters nerves off the books.

Thanks for your performance v the nags and the goal v everton, you will always have a sound of music 'how do you solve a problem like maria' legendary status, good luck and good bye

It's only my personal speculation mate, could quite easily be wrong. I saw a different Sessegnon during pre-season as I have since the beginning of the season, something changed and I suggest it's because he found out he was being pushed out, hence poor form and drink driving. I don't think the kid wants to leave but knows he doesn't have much of an option. Having said that, he could of said that he was willing to take a pay cut... Lots of speculation but unlikely to ever know the truth.

Granted marra, thats what its about on here, just think personally that his time here was up prior to any drink driving convictions, no manager we've had has been able to solve the problem like maria or had the balls to get rid, should be a massive turning point this imho and one less thing for the gaffer to concern himself with

For me it opens the door to bring in two midfielders with attacking prowess. Budget is clearly an issue and this will open doors to bring what we need. with a leftback we're sorted at least till January.

Not sure that it is although the wage bill may be.

May be time to buy out Brown, who seems to be a top earner and doubtful to play many games and, of course, the famous Bardsley

We will not in any shape or form miss Sess when he goes imo.

His decent game every 5 or 6 is not what good teams are built on and we will be better shaped with Altidore, Wickham and Fletcher fighting for a front 2 places I have no problem with that.

However, we have to replace him unlike the Bent farce and I would trust PDC has already got someone lined up? We also need a proper playmaker and a left back. Lots of work to be done in the next 4 days then.

Good job we dont have Joke as our recruiter. Lol

I have mixed feelings as I don't think we ever got to see what we deserved to see and I suspect that this season could have been the season we all hoped to be for Sessegnon. On the other hand, patience has worn thin with most of us.

Times move on and aslong as a replacement of high quality comes in, all will be well.
