I'm saying this now - I'm not really bothered if we lose this one. I know it's a cliche, but it's better imo if we don't have to concentrate on this as well as the league, even though we can play a second side in this cup.
Need to win. They said that there are people in the crowd watching Stewart and Mclean and if they do well they might have bids come in.
I want to win every game, it does help to build a winning mentality. Even if the second string get into that winning way - when we have to put them in the first team due to injuries/suspensions, we know they'll come into the side with the right attitude.
Well I'd be worried as 6 or 7 of this team may have to in the first team squad at some stage of the season.
I have to say i want to win, can't ever accept losing. Never seen a team go down blaming their FA Cup or League Cup run, they just weren't good enough in the League. Look at Wigan they are just a poor side not down to them winning cup.
Well we got to the FA Cup Sixth Round and managed to stay up last time. There should be no excuses; we should be winning tonight and any calls of "I don't care if we win" will just be to mask the embarrassment of losing to a League 1 side. We want to win, we want to progress and go as far as we can.
51% possession Orient 49% to us. No shots and no corners. What is it about us and Cup competitions. I'm dreading the FA Cup.
I perfectly understand why people are disagreeing with me, just giving my opinion that I believe more harm will come from a cup run than good, in the long term anyways. If we weren't fighting relegation and we were a bit more comfortable, I would be all for a cup run. But I just think it might get in the way for this season.
This does seem to be at odds with your views on City players in international squads, though. Surely they get in the way too - potentially even more, given the travel and potential intensity of those matches, compared to League Cup matches in which the important players aren't even involved?
Not really, because internationals usually come in a 2 week break of fixtures, whereas the cup appears in the middle of the week.
