Gosh..! This is an exciting match.

 

Not sure I get playing him tonight is working. Would have thought Lukaku would be the one - put the willies up Ferdi and Vidic, as it were....

 

No doubt if I were in Jose's shoes Lukaku would have started (Then again I would have started him in the last two games, too), just that I've seen numerous people elsewhere saying 'Oh mai gosh Moorinho playnig a winger up front!', when going on the evidence of the last few seasons he's about as much of a striker as Rooney is.

 

This is the ****test game I've ever seen. Desperately needs a goal.

TSS this is what annoys me about a lot of English football fans; this is a fascinating tactical battle. It may not be filled with lots of goal mouth action (or any for that matter) but this is an interesting battle. I people can't appreciate the occasional "chess" game and study the different tactical options, then they are only interested in football for cut and thrust.

 

Agreed FLT, this game might not set the heart racing but to me it's a fascinating tactical battle.

Can you have an official beer in sports..? You can imagine the executives at the Premier League...

First Exec: People, we need to generate more money. What are we going to do..?
Tea Person: Why do you need more money..?
Second Exec: Shut up you. Of course we need more money.
Third Exec: But SKY have squeezed every last shilling out of the working class..!
First Exec: No they haven't. The working class still get drunk.
Second Exec: Aha..! Yes..! What we need is an official beer.
Tea Person: Sport and beer..? Are you having a laugh..?
First Exec: Look stupid, just leave the room. [Tea Person leaves]
Second Exec: People, it doesn't matter. Anybody can drink whatever they like, but we'll get some suckers to call themselves the official beer.
Third Exec: What happens then..?
First Exec: Well, whichever company becomes the official beer gives us a huge wad of cash and then calls themselves the official beer.
Third Exec: And then what happens..?
Second Exec: Nothing at all. The people continue to drink themselves silly with whatever they can get hold of. We get richer still, and the beer company think they're suddenly something special.

Finally this game is starting to open up.

 

Thing is FLT, if I wanted to watch a fascinating tactical battle I'd go and look something which has consequences that I care about. This is something that happens to be on because Saints aren't playing. You must know my stance by now. I have about 0.1% interest in teams other than Saints. I don't need a fascinating tactical battle at present. Ta.

As for English fans, I expect a lot of them are partisan like me.
