That game was truly ****ing dreadful. The first thing to say is that game will give unlimited ammunition to Hughton's critics. We were really very poor for the entire match, we carried very little threat, lost the ball too often and ultimately rarely looked like breaking down a resilient but even more woeful Hull City side.
Curtis Davies and the other Hull centre-half were absolute rocks. For us, most of our team were very anonymous. Redmond was by far our best attacking player all match and Michael Turner who IMO was unfairly penalized for the penalty had a really good game for me.
I hate to criticise our players but some performances were really poor today. Our subs today made no difference, and I daresay Hoolahan even made a negative contribution. Garrido put in a good cross was but looked really inept today. He was by far and away the biggest hoofball merchant on the field today and probably missed more passes than he found.
It was almost painful to watch - as soon as Hull scored you just knew it would be the only goal of the game. The game was so stop start with so many fouls given for minimal contact which broke up the game for Hull's benefit.
The truth is though, although we deserve slating for looking so flat against 10 men we were still far better than Hull. Aside from the fact they defended well, they looked like a pub team and carried almost no threat, playing at home, even before the red card and that makes the defeat hurt even more.
It was never a penalty in a million years, and to watch Michael Turner bundled over in the box five minutes later makes me feel sick. We had injuries and got mugged by the ref so I'm going to hope this was just a very bad day at the office.
Get it sorted Hughton, OTBC
