Lol, I would like to see them try and tell Madrid how they should go about their business. A swift, '**** right off' would be the reply, I guess.
I don't think teams can dictate that far in terms of negotiations, sure if it was a former Spurs player that Madrid wanted to sell, and Spurs had some control over it, aka Fabregas with us, then yeah, but it's free market, you can't tell a team we can't make business if you make that business, that alone would be bad for business and would **** the market up.
Spurs are not going to have a choice, no other team is stupid enough to pay that sort of money for bale, plus they have already spent the money, and bale will not sign a new contract to they have to sell him within the next 12 months. Real are the only option for them.
I don't rate Benzema that highly, I do think he is a decent striker and will improve our team should the move happen. Nothing is certain as it stands. Di Maria on the other hand would be an unbelievable signing as you say. I still think we'll see more twists and turns to come in the remaining days of the window.
Benzema scored 32 goals and grabbed 15 assists in 2012, last season 20 goals and 19 assists, that ain't too bad at all. The man is 20+ goal scorer, and with Wenger's moulding, can become better.
Wenger has shown interest in Di Maria before. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/a/arsenal/6920391.stm
Its actually Di Maria ive always had my doubts about, I said it when spurs were linked with him. Seems to spend a lot of time falling over..
That is a flaw in his game, but apart from that he is brilliant. Quick and great skills to match. In recent times, I never seen a player cause as much problems to Barca as Di Maria has.
Di Maria, Benzema, Cabaye, Williams and Casillas - that'd bulk out the squad nicely. Maybe not all the first choice players we want for those spots but good quality signings for the squad.
Definitely, but you still don't want to tempt fate, or I wouldn't, not with a ball-breaker like Levy. Out of curiosity, would these qualify as panic signings?
I'd love Di Maria (even if he is a bit of a diver), not sold on Benzema. I honestly think there are better options out there for less. If we're doing a multi deal with Real, how about Di Maria and Khedira? Fills 2 positions with "Top Top Quality" that Wenger is always going on about. For a cheaper striker, i reckon Mirko Vucinic is worth a look. The guy is criminally underrated, He's playing as a 2nd striker/winger at Juve, and still bags 10+ a season in a very defensive league. In this league he'd easily be a 20-25+ man.
Was kidding though. Benzema / Di Maria would be like Supermarket Sweep combined with Who Wants to be a Millionaire?!
I say we get Casillas (£15m), get Khedira (£20-£25m), get Di Maria (£20-£25m), get Benzema (£40m) all for £95-£105m, which affords them Bale, win win situation for us, then sign Williams for £10 million or whatever. £115 million would sort our problems, which can easily do if we wanted, especially with the guaranteed £30 million from Champions League qualification to add to our £100 million to spend. Casillas Sagna - Mertesacker - Koscielny - Monreal Khedira - Arteta Cazorla Walcott - Benzema - Di Maria Or whatever other variations are possible. That'd be pretty sweet. But it won't happen.
Rumours Schalke are offering 20 million euros (£15-17 million) for Podolski, because all of their strikers are injured http://www.bild.de/sport/fussball/schalke/an-podolski-dran-31929138.bild.html I like Poldi, but it appears Wenger doesn't, and at that price, i reckon he'd sell him if the offer came in.
