Despite what a great signing he would be i agree with gent that i think it's highly unlikely to be true.

Yeah i'd like to see us sign a utility defender.
 
I'd say considering our only actual bids so far have been for a midfield player and a striker that it is pretty certain that Wenger is still trying to bring in both of these positions. I think if he can find the right defender we will add a defender as well.

A winger and a GK are the other areas we could potentially use some depth, depending on what you believe we maybe had some interst in Bernard and Gervinho is gone which might suggest we are looking for a winger but these positions have had less signs that we will strengthen.

I really do think we will see some movement in the next few days.
 
Trouble is we needed strengthening weeks before the season started, we've now lost Arteta, Oxo and (probably) Kos to long term injuries so we now need to strengthen just to replace the players we've lost to injury.
At this rate we might have to play that cock Bendtner !
 
He could turn out to be our CB solution - he's been telling us he's the best player in the world since his 12th birthday maybe he never meant as a striker....
 
Some Casillas rumours floating about - he'd be a fantastic GK signing and a great player for Sczc to learn from.

Agreed.
But again, he's been a virtual outcast at Madrid for a year so why wait until now given our shortcomings in the position ?
 
Everyone assumed when Mourinho went Casillas would get his spot back in the team but he hasn't and so i think now Casillas will be willing to move on.

The rumours are saying we want to spend around the £8m mark as he is 32 and is unlikely to have any resale value, but Madrid want £15m.

If we manage to tie up the signings we need more than a GK (striker, defender, DM/Arteta-esque midfielder, maybe a winger) then i'd say overpay for him if we have to. But if paying that monery for Casillas stopped us strengthening in other positions im not sure id be so keen for us to meet there valuation.

Yup we've got no chance of signing Suarez now. Deal definitely off. A lot of activity to come in the remaining twelve days. Hopefully from tomorrow we should see some movement.
 
Hopefully we get Benzema, out of the 4 strikers of Suarez, Higuain, Rooney, and Benzema, Benzema would be my 2nd choice behind Suarez.
