Has anyone else noticed how the Gooner wums (principally PESKIE and COYG) seem to have magically disappeared? It would appear that they have nothing to laugh about at the moment and, not having anything constructive to write, have decided to keep a low-profile. A very sensible move, in my opinion. Or have they finally been banned?
It's scary how much better your squad is than Arsenal's. It's a wonder why they haven't gone in for some of the players you have.
we're getting a lot of nice comments from opposing fans. Maybe we are finally doing it right??? Cheers drogs
I think selling Bale could end up being a masterstroke, that is if you end up with the three players currently linked with you. With a combined XI the only Arsenal player I'd put in there is Wilshere. I imagine most level-headed gooners will disagree there!
Maybe didn't think it through properly. Combined XI: (provided you nab these three players) Lloris Walker Kaboul Vertonghen Coentrao(sp) Wilshere Sandro Lamela Willian Cazorla Soldado Not bad.
They're not even in the same league. Sacrificing a sheep would be a popular move in Scotland. Thousands of Scots were sacrificed for sheep so returning the favour would have a certain ring of justice.
I doubt that side would go down too well on the Arsenal board, Drogs! My guess is that they'd push for the inclusion of Koscielny, Sagna and Walcott, maybe?
Sagna would ordinarily but I think he's declining at a rapid ratr. Walcott isn't as good as Lamela in my view and Kosielny is a good CB but I wouldn't have hom over Kaboul or Vertonghen.
Eugh. Only if we are planning on sacrificing him to help Celtic through to the CL group stages At the moment i'd have Kos over Kaboul. If Kab gets back to full fitness and form then Kos can warm bench. Sagna over Walker for me too unfortunately. I'd have Paulinho over Wilshere. I've only seen Pauly once but i've seen/heard enough of Wilshere to know i wouldn't want him within a 10m ****ty stick touching distance of my team
I am reminded of David Niven's books The Moons a Baloon and Bring on the Empty Horses. Niven is filming "Charge of the Light Brigade" with Errol Flynn, director Mike Curtiz (Hungarian) "Flynn and I doubled up with laughter. "You lousy bums," Curtiz shouted, "you and your stinking language...you think I know **** nothing...well, let me tell you - I know **** ALL!"
Koscielny's suspended To be honest, I'd put Paulinho in above Wilshere right now, he's been awful lately and I refuse to believe that any England midfielders could get in the Brazil side There's a decent amount of close calls across the 11 though, as you'd expect.
It's too early to say, as we've not seen enough from him, but in 2 months time, I wouldn't be surprised if you'd be changing wilshere for Paulinho. Also, if Capoue's debut is anything to go by, it'd be tough not to have him knocking on the door, too.
Jason Puncheon has signed on a season long loan for Palace. That's a really good signing, IMO. Surprised saints let him go TBH.
Capoue's debut hasn't come up much since the actual match thread. It was pretty spectacular for a DM if you ask me. There was some stat that in the time he was on the pitch (less than a half) he made more interceptions than 3 or 4 prem teams in their opening match
