Good news that. Not the one of the signings we desperately need though. Left back, Centre mid. Get it done.

I'll be pretty happy if he signs. Leaves us young, exciting cover for the wings.

Lb and cm and we'll be laughing

Will be a decent backup for Giaccherini. Got the pace and skills that we need towards the end of our games!

Agreed. Not sure why PDC's said we need a striker. Think he's forgotten about Duncan!

Ahhh Duncan Watmore! What a player. With him we can afford to sell Sess and not bring in a replacement. Hell, we don't even need Fletcher or any of our other attackers to be honest

    I'm sure monty987 would agree

good news for the squad this, we are very light everywhere at the minute as any injury to the first team and its dross coming in really bar Wickham/Ji & Karlsson.

I am totally perplexed at who is going to be out CM play maker, cant wait to find out who we go for, someone with PL experience though could be better than an overseas recruit.

Duncan was the player that got my panties wet when i found out we'd signed him. Absolute cracker of a deal. The next Messi and Ronaldo rolled into one. But he'll score more than both combined. Monty, he's mine - back the **** off. :p

Will probably be a good signing but I would have though a centre midfielder should be our main priority followed by a leftback.

Good prospect but I would like some Prem quality in the team now, no more unknown quantities.

Dying to find out who the CM is going to be, this area of the field costs money though and it would be nice to see Ellis back PDC in this area big time. If we buy cheap here it will tell.

    Couldnt find the other one

In recent days and after the trip Panathinaikos in Norwich, there was mobility from Sunderland for Mavrias. The feeling there is that eventually the British would return, and so it happened. Indeed, submitted bid the same as the original. 3 +1 million for the acquisition of international winger, who this time "flies" on the Island, where it is expected to pass a medical examination and sign the "mafrogates."

The bid amount was such that the "clover" could not deny, however, that money will have the chance to close "holes" both inside and outside the pitch.

Think Giacherini could be moved to the centre maybe if we get this lad but fail to land a cm.

This seems a strange deal with Di Canios budget tight and us still desperate for a cm and lb

    I agree.

I only hope it means we have plenty in the kitty to bring in a cm and lb aswell.

    if we have spent £30m

Once you take into account the money from bringing people in and the money from Sky/Prem/Sponsorship we should still have a fair amount in there somewhere

I can see Giacherini being moved to the centre and Sess to the left with a new no.10 coming in. Mavrias will be cover for the left.

I personally think Sess is better on the left wing and we need and attacking Lb and a new no.10. to play in the hole.

There's no way that DMK or Mavrias will be starters. They're both 19 and that's way too much pressure to put on them at that age.

CHARIS Mavrias is on his way to Wearside, as Sunderland look to finalise a move for the Greek winger.

Sunderland saw a £2.5million switch for Panathinaikos wideman Mavrias fall through last month, before they failed with a subsequent season-long loan offer last week.

But the Black Cats have resurrected their original £2.5m deal for Mavrias and he is due to arrive in the North East today to undergo a medical and discuss personal terms.

The 19-year-old Grek international will become Sunderland’s 11th signing of the summer.
