I'm not usually a contributor to suggestions for chants and wouldn't start a new thread for it either unless I thought it was relevant. However, we've just signed a guy who (apparently) has a life size model of Mick Jagger in his home and plays in shinpads with the Stones' logo on them. I think we could make him feel right at home straight away if we use a Stones track for his chant. As there are so many to choose from, what should it be?
As mentioned on the other thread he is also a massive Pink Floyd fan, and Another Brick in the Wall has to be the easiest to come up with a chant to. As awesome as it would sound I think coming up with a song to "Paint It Black" would be beyond the vocal skills of most of our fans, myself included!
Osvaldo has the same amount of syllables as Start Me Up. I'm sure we could work something out from that.
I don't usually contribute to these either, but Satisfaction does present a familiar tune to many, and somebody imaginative could alter I can't get no, satisfaction to We have got our, Dan Osvaldo, or something like it, and run with it, I think there might be something reasonably good there.
I think a reworking of "Tumbling Dice" would sound good: "You've got to roll him and call him Dani Osva-a-a-ldo"
That would work. Assuming he goes well we could follow it with "'Cause he scores and he scores and he scores and he scores"
We don't need Robin Van Persie We don't need no Wayne Rooney We've got Daniel (pronounced Dan-i-el as is the Spanish/Italian wont) Osvaldo Osvaldo score another goal Hey Daniel score another goal! All in all it's just another goal for the Saints All in all he's just too good for the Skates Needs a lot of work but I just think such an icnonic song reverberating around SMS would sound great!
Here's a simple one, lyrically, but would catch on pretty easily. You better stop and look around, here he comes... here he comes... here he comes... here he comes... here comes King Da-i-el Os-val-do To the tune of 19th Nervous Breakdown of course
La, lalalalala, Osvaldo!...how come you play so good? la, lalalalala, Osvaldo!...just like an Italian should. To Brown Sugar
The Satisfaction one might work as it's simple in every sense. Easier the better when it comes to footie chants catching on methinks.....
I've seen a lot of Pink Floyd suggestions and they all just seem a little too forced. Also I wouldn't trust a stadium full of people to stay in time.
