Oh God, we're going to get all the Twitter twerps banging on about MP not speaking English again aren't we.....

Yes, yes we are. The commentator on my stream today was very keen to point out that he was speaking English to the players.

I thought Mourinho was quite right in the interviews from this morning saying there hasn't been an outstanding PL team for some years. United, City etc have won it more down to the failings of others than being of the Arsenal Invincibles/Chelsea points record team's ilk.

I'd have to agree really, though it's easy to look back with rose-tinted glasses at how good those teams were to be fair, in 10 years we may be looking back at the last couple of years title-winning teams as mammoths of the game. And on other team's failings, you can only beat what you're presented with, and all that! Still I suppose English teams' performances in the CL in the last couple of years bear out a lack of quality too, despite Chelsea winning in 2011. It has gone from 1 team out of 20 failing to get out of the groups in 5 years, to four out of 8 failing in two years. And 16/20 getting to the quarter-finals or beyond, to 1/8. Have to say he has a point, mind games thought it was.

Also saying that 6 teams could win it this season as opposed to any clear leaders. I think Chelsea will win it this year, but I honestly believe that Spurs (with or without Bale) could go as high as second.

As anticipated, Twitter going mad about Pochettino "not speaking a word of English". It's desperately tedious, but then I guess the reasons why, and the fact that he does, aren't explained on MOTD.

It's not really their job to explain it every week though is it? It doesn't bother those of us who know but until he starts doing interviews in English there will always be people who think he doesn't speak it.

On the stream I was watching today there was a point where Pochettino was giving direct tactical information to Steven Davis before he came on, and the commentator remarked that he must be speaking in English.

Well gosh, what a Sherlock Holmes, eh..? The thing is, it's not only commentators who have eyes. Ordinary normally sighted people have have them too, don't they..? It's a pity they don't have brains as well. ;)

If Palace get anything out of this game I'll be pretty shocked. Gayle and Wilbraham up front are a League One partnership if I've ever seen one.

Looked at a Palace forum, haven't seen any coherent arguments as to how they are gonna win 9 games yet. Someone said Joel Ward (of Pompey academy) was better than Clyne. <laugh>
