The only reason that's bad is because of squad depth, not because of losing a quality player, OXO was very average last season, and wasn't lighting the world on fire during the first half, most of us assumed he got subbed off because he was so **** in the first half. Hopefully the injury will FORCE Wenger to sign another winger, which is what we needed all along.
He was!? Really because I seem to recall an assist, constantly terrorizing the left side and bringing pace to the game. If anything bringing Santi on for him killed us attacking wise
It is what we needed, but now it's what we can't do without. Realistically even with signing a winger we'd be short in the flanks. Gibbs is probably going to cover on the left quite a bit once Nacho comes back.
Have to disagree. Not the Ox's biggest fan, but he was probably our 2nd best player in the 1st half (After Rosicky)
I knew we shouldn't have sold Gerv. He's decent cover. But now we defo need a LW. Pod is better up front, Ryo is too young.
If we have 150 million lying around in the bank, i reckon we should try and sign Bale, it would be a waste of time, but so is every other transfer attempt we've made this summer.
Let's sign someone who would want to come to us, Rooney ain't that someone, he wants Chelsea, so let's stop wasting our time with him, and then have Wenger come say VE TRIED.
Strikers I say we should go for: Michu, Dzeko, and Kiebling (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stefan_KieÃling)
I don't think we even went for Gustavo. Doubt he'd chose Wolfsburg over us, we ain't THAT bad of a prospect.
Kiebling is do-able and would be cheaper too. Michu as well. Not sure if City would sell Dzeko but there are still good options out there.
I think if we offered 20 million, maybe 25 for Michu, Swansea would sell, for a club like Swansea, that's huge money.
We shouldn't go for a Giroud type, even if he is a supposedly improved version of the same player. We already have one. (about Kiebling)
That is bad news about the Ox, I was tipping him for a big season. He was looking great in pre season and was good again today. ****ing terrible luck that
Well at this point we're desperate for a striker, we badly do need one, and it's less to do with Giroud not being world quality, it's an issue of depth, Giroud's our only out and out CF, Podolski and Walcott are options, but we need an out and out CF, not winger/striker type player. Plus, in the big games against strong defenders, much prefer having a Kiebling figure over Walcott who's weak (got outmuscled even against Villa today out on the wing!)
Geoff saying its 2 weeks-2 months instead of the initial 3 month reported. That being said a winger is needed.
Michu is better than Keisling. Keisling is a more clinical Giroud, Michu has far more to his overall game.
