Osvaldo - Southampton v Tottenham: http://www.tuttomercatoweb.com/serie-a/roma-per-osvaldo-lotta-a-due-southampton-tottenham-475104 TRANSLATION "According reveals romagiallorossa.it, the journey from London the leadership of Rome had from the outset in order to test the market for the English striker Pablo Daniel Osvaldo, becoming more outgoing as Trigoria. Sabatini has received and accepted, as written, the offer of Southampton for the Italian-Argentine approximately 18 million euro, with the player who would go to get a figure of just over 3.5 million. However, the player would not be thrilled to return employed by Pochettino, a former technician at Espanyol. But the real novelty lies in the offer received from Tottenham, who arrived to propose a figure close to 16 million euro for the club and a contract to lower figures than those proposed by the Saints for the player, who is thinking about it. A response from Osvaldo is expected in the coming hours. The Spurs the player would have the visibility you need to continue to wear the shirt of the national team and would play the spoons, but it should earn the place with opponents of the caliber of Soldado and Adebayor. At the court of Pochettino, who in the last hour he's storming of phone calls to get him to choose the offer red and white, instead get a starring role undisputed, since for him the club is willing even to exceed the limit of engagements throughout its history ."
Surely the translater got the "caliber of Adebayor" line more incorrect than the reference to playing the spoons?
He might be able to force it though. If the bid's on the table then he could just reject offers from anyone else and say it's either Inter or he's staying.
This is exactly the sort of naivete that Nixon is always talking about. Of course, you don't want to give in to every demand, but you must know the marketplace. We already lost Banega due to our refusal to let him take over first-seat tambourine.
The Daily Star, it say no. http://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/fo...t-Southampton-bid-in-favour-of-Tottenham-move
Seems like Poch has about as much influence in the transfer market as Nige did then! Arguably less, if his ex-Espanyol players don't welcome the chance to play under him again! He's the Latin Nigel! Not a bad thing, of course...
Spurs are my new worst team - I wish nothing but lack of success on them. Smarmy manager-cum-impersonator w/ massive chip on his shoulder; buying up everyone in the market while refusing to let Bale go anywhere (despite him obviously destined for Madrid this window, given his injury has magically taken him out of play until roughly the end of the transfer window, and their spunking ooh, roughly around £100m buying forward players). Hope they finish fifth for eternity, and that Osvaldo is a complete and utter nightmare for them and throws tantrum after tantrum in the dressing room after not getting starting places; missing a place in the Italy squad in Brasil in the process. Of course, I take the Osvaldo stuff back if the Star is wrong.
If and it's a BIG IF I am reading this correctly ,they are saying MP has offered him a starring role , then that's crap IMHO . Personally speaking , I don't want ANY players that will wind our current players up ! Competition for places of course , but ego battles , no ta .
