I would expect the cost of 'Hawkeye' is down to the club, as it's a condition of being in the PL this season.

The cost of the Sky stuff, new camera angle and 3D equipment, etc. will be borne by Murdoch & co.

I could think of some of our previous owners who would have had it in their front room. <laugh>

I doubt that was the real Premier League trophy as that was down south for the Premier League launch in London as seen on Sky Sports 1/News.

    So it isn't KC?

I was at the stadium today actually and they had massive piles of boxes of Netgear equipment. I guess that will be something to do with it.

Best news in there is that they're investing in the pitch lamps.

As I said above I was there today, and there certainly wasn't a big screen up yet. I imagine it will be in the South stand when it does go up.

I saw it and it was the real Premier League trophy. They had a guy employed specifically to stand near it and shine it every few seconds.

Great news about the pitch lamps - should keep the grass in top condition all season.

Just watched that video again and there appears to be some scaffolding on the South Stand, right side. Maybe that's where it's going? Makes sense as the other side is where TV crews set up a box.

"We recognise that the East Stand tends to be home to all the hard-core football fans, so we've made that more of an area suited to that sort of football fan.
"The South Stand tends to attract more of a family audience, so we have looked to make that more family friendly and are looking at having children's entertainers and face painters etc in there.
"The West Stand is usually home to people who tend to be a little bit older, so we've done things celebrating the heritage of Hull and the East Riding, and then in the away end it is almost like giving people a flavour of the area.

What on earth does that entail?

    April 2013 Daily Mail

"The Premier League are likely to ‘centrally fund’ GLT for its member clubs and the FA will pay for cameras to be installed at Wembley".
    Wonder if they did?

Hope they have got the turnstiles sorted . Can you imagine the queues for a full house, was bad enough last season with only 15000 fans.<steam>

I never saw any bad queues at all last season.

Did everyone turn up at 2.55 or something?

Pretty much. Given getting there at that time and there being a queue that was right back to Tiger Leisure only saw me miss one kick off last season I'm not holding the turnstile system responsible. Even more extortionate beer prices than the season before making everyone stay in the pubs for the last prematch drinks rather than go to the ground early was a more likely cause of the issues.

I remember missing the first quarter of an hour of a match at Crystal Palace and when I got in we were winning 2-0 but only managed to draw 2-2. In my defence we did start drinking at 11 o'clock!

I think they've changed the turnstile system a bit where you now hand your pass over and the operator scans it, at least that's what's happened last few times at rugby.

It's a bit slower if you worked out how to do it yourself but miles quicker because there aren't the ******s trying to scan their pass for 15 minutes.

I really don't understand how people struggled. There were people getting to the gate, then fumbling for their pass, almost annoyed and surprised they've been asked to show it. How hard is it to scan the barcode on your pass, over a sign that tells you what to do? And you had to do it 23 times a season. Honest to God, I started going at 2pm and just sitting in the stand with my mate; it was just painful.

Same. I don't understand what's so hard - all you are doing is scanning a code ffs...

This looks to be the most important investment:

"Even the much talked about pitch, which became a mess last season and was a hindrance to Steve Bruce's footballing side, may not be as much of a problem during this season.

"We will be investing in pitch lights to aid grass growth during the season," Thompson revealed.

"What we want to do is make sure it stays up to standard.

"Clubs use these lights to nurture growth and protect the grass so we have looked into that and will be bringing those lights in later in the season."

Hopefully he is being truthful in this case

I hope they don't suddenly decide later in the season to not buy the lights.
