Berk comes from Berkshire Hunt, and it's rhyming slang.

Correct. The two words "twat" & "berk" both indirectly refer to the same anatomical region. Twat from the old Norse word "thveit" meaning a place or thing "cut off"...we can use our own imagination how the ancient Norsemen coined that one (Freud certainly got some mileage out of the idea of having been "cut off") . Eventually became the Scots word "twatt". The place name Thwaite e.g. as in Braithwaite is also derived from this source.

I prefer "berk" as it has a more poetic English ring to it.

Can't we stop this BS before it become a ****ing history lesson of words and phrases and just get back on topic.
