Surely the only reason to buy late is to get a bargain?.. I thought we had money?

Very few of the 'big' deals happen on the last day. It's a very risky way to do business.

Also it's better to have your squad together before the Season starts (Wenger has admitted this himself) rather than brining players in 2-3 games into the Season.

I am lucky enough to be able to afford to change my car for a brand new one every 3 months if I so wanted. Does that mean I should? This whole thing about we have go so much cash that we should just spend it recklessly is quite simply, reckless!

It is obviously best to have a new player join the team as early as possible, but judging by the way we ended last year and how good we have looked preseason, it shouldn't be the end of the world if we have to sign people late on and integrate them during the first few weeks of the season.

If the club do not make a BIG signing this window and the club do not come out and adequately justify in detail why they didn't, I will also be calling for someone's head. However, we still have plenty of time, so I am not getting my panties in a bunch just yet :)

Isn't there a bunch of BR quotes where he says that Arsenal's offer isn't high enough, and they'll have to pay what Suarez is worth?
I'm happy to accept I am wrong so feel free to post them if true <ok>

This was from the first article I clicked on: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/23446686

BR: "If Arsenal want the player they have to produce the value for the player,"
BR: "There was an offer a few weeks ago of £35m and two weeks later it is now £40m and £1. I don't think it is anywhere near the value of what he is worth."
BR: ""It is two-fold really. A player may want to go, but then somebody has to pay the value or worth of that player."

I'm not going to bother finding more because it's not that important, but it sounded to me like he wanted an offer that matched his valuation.

Fair enough, I still think it was his way of saying he's not for sale but I can understand where you're coming from <ok>

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is ready to let wing back Carl Jenkinson out on loan this season.

The 21-year-old has made great strides since making his debut for the Gunners in 2011 and has made 23 appearances for the first team.

Now, however, the Emirates boss believes he is ready for the next stage of his development and like Jack Wilshire and Kieran Gibbs before him, that could involve a loan spell.

If true this really does start to worry me. I want to keep the faith in AW, but sheeeeeesh he knows how to test us.

I've read a couple of times that Wolfsburg are offering Gustavo £130k a week wages, we were never likely to match that for a player that's not top class
