Surely the only reason to buy late is to get a bargain?.. I thought we had money? Very few of the 'big' deals happen on the last day. It's a very risky way to do business. Also it's better to have your squad together before the Season starts (Wenger has admitted this himself) rather than brining players in 2-3 games into the Season.
I am lucky enough to be able to afford to change my car for a brand new one every 3 months if I so wanted. Does that mean I should? This whole thing about we have go so much cash that we should just spend it recklessly is quite simply, reckless! It is obviously best to have a new player join the team as early as possible, but judging by the way we ended last year and how good we have looked preseason, it shouldn't be the end of the world if we have to sign people late on and integrate them during the first few weeks of the season. If the club do not make a BIG signing this window and the club do not come out and adequately justify in detail why they didn't, I will also be calling for someone's head. However, we still have plenty of time, so I am not getting my panties in a bunch just yet

I've read a couple of times that Wolfsburg are offering Gustavo £130k a week wages, we were never likely to match that for a player that's not top class
