I was getting a bit worried earlier as lots of articles on the net are starting to quote Suarez as not saying he was to stay at Liverpool.

So I did a little research.

It is Kyodo news agency which is being quoted so I had alook. on Kyodo, (a subscription site) there are two articles, one on the Uruguay vs Japan game, (you can read a couple of paragraphs of this.) and one saying about the Suarez quotes. (You can read none of this unless you are subscribed.)

Both articles are by a journalist called Gus Fielding, i had a little look and he actually works for Japan today. However on the Japan today website he has only written one article, (exactly the same as what is available on the Kyodo match report - word for word.) he has written no article on Suarez quotes and there are no mention of Suarez quotes.

Therefore I am assuming these new quotes about him not wanting to stay are most likely bollocks.....Hopefully

in other words an arsenal fan.

Arsenal set to make £49million bid for Luis Suarez to finally sign Liverpool striker

Arsenal are set to up their offer for Liverpool striker Luis Suarez to £49million in a bid to finally secure his services.

Gunners boss Arsene Wenger remains desperate to land the 26-year-old, despite having bids of £25million and £40million plus £1 rejected.

The new offer, according to reports, would be £49million up front, with the Telegraph suggesting that it will make Liverpool seriously consider selling.

Arsenal have so far refused to push the transfer, with Wenger insisting that the club want to do things in the right way, but he is getting impatient.

With the Premier League season just around the corner, Arsenal have brought in only one player – young striker Yaya Sanogo, who is currently injury.

It’s a state of play that has left fans frustrated, and the club know only a big money deal would win them around.

Elsewhere, Arsenal also look set to miss out on the signing of Bayern Munich ace Luiz Gustavo, with Wolfsburg believed to have agreed a transfer.

The Brazil ace is said to have accepted a giant pay increase to remain in Germany, and Wolfsburg now hope to complete the deal before the weekend.

If true, shows Wenger and Arsenal are getting desperate. With no one in yet he knows need to sign a top player in order to appease the fans. Ask for £60mil and see what they say then <whistle>

We won't sell to Arsenal, they'd have to big a world record to stand a chance.

Be fun to let them think they have a chance and keep bumping it up though and then just tell them no just before the window shuts <ok>

<laugh>

I think he'll get over those injury problems and crack on now, a lot of players have issues when they're younger <ok>

He does look good. Seems to drift past players with ease and always look for those one two's past players. If he can add a few goals to his game and stay injury free he could become a brilliant all round midfielder I agree.

I think he will add goals to his game in the next couple of seasons too, just like Gerrard and Lampard did around 23/24 years of age.

Wilshire will slow down when he reaches his thirties but I think he has the passing to play the Pirlo type role that we're currently seeing Gerrard do.

Wilshire just reminds me of Jamie Redknapp. The same promise and the same injuries. Sorry not for me.

As for this supposed bid. It's only in the Metro which is a rag anyway. But the answer is already known. JH has said NO. What part of that does Wenger not understand? Wenger is getting totally desperate.

I reckon you'll cave soon enough, maybe not to us, but keeping a player who doesn't want to be there can't be good for team spirit?

And you'd be mad to turn down £49 million for him. And we're mad for offering £49 million for him.

I'd agree with both parts of that if it wasn't Arsenal, because of that I only agree with the latter bit <ok>

Strengthening Arsenal would cost us a lot more than a great player!

Actually came from the Telegraph, metro copied it. and John Henry said no about Torres, and look what happened there <ok>

You know what you call a man that thinks no means yes?

JH did say no about Torres but he'd only just arrived in football and didn't know much better. He's been here for three years now and he also knows that we need to make a stance, if he backs down both he and the club stand to lose a hell of a lot of face and respect.

Look it's got nothing to do with you so just run along, jog on whatever...

Arsenal are not having him and that's certain. So you can stick your £49 million. If JH does decide to accept an offer from abroad then he's going to have to explain his logic to us -not you.

You should be spending more of your time questioning your own Board as to why they continually cock-up their transfer window strategy.
