Yeah but the only way we could sign a player Liverpool want is be doubling his wages You're right, it's very unlikely although I do seem to recall seeing a few papers claim it was nearly £50K he's on, which still seems high. Wasn't VDV on about £60k?

Trouble with that is, that so many Mousers will be laying down their hard-earned dole money that the odds with quickly shorten to odds-on.
This has been doing the rounds since May. 25/1 They finished 28 points adrift last season! And Suarez doesn't want to play for them. What are they hoping for? The Germans haven't bombed Manchester for nearly 70 years!
http://www1.skysports.com/football/...odgers-expects-daniel-agger-to-snub-barcelona Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers is confident Daniel Agger will stay loyal to the club despite interest from Barcelona. Barcelona are thought to have made a bid for Agger as they look to bring in a striker before the close of the transfer window. Agger, who is currently the second-longest serving player at the club, still has three years to run on his contract and was recently installed as vice-captain to Steven Gerrard. Rodgers is not worried about Barcelona's interest in Agger and insists the Dane has assured him that he is happy to stay at Anfield. "Daniel has given me his word that he loves Liverpool and I will expect him to be here," Rodgers told the Daily Mirror. "He had chances to leave, but told me as long as we wanted him here, then he wanted to stay. "He's been brilliant, that is why we have given him the vice-captaincy. The one thing I got from him from the very first conversation is loyalty. "That is why he signed a new contract and committed himself to the club, and why we gave him a new contract - because we want him to be part of our future. "He is important to the way we play, and he has been central to the way we work since I came here, and he knows that. There have been a couple of enquiries, but we have made our position clear." ....and I though playing Mascherano at CB was taking the piss!
"Daniel has given me his word that he loves Liverpool..." ("David" Brent Rodgers) Someone should put that in their signature.
Serious question for Mousers... If Suarez does stay, will you give him a heroes welcome when he comes back from his ban? Now before you knee-jerk with the usual "if he wears the jersey" line of vacuous puff, just take a minute to think about this. Here is a player who has done just about everything he can to engineer a move to Arsenal, bar handing in a cash-costing transfer request. Be in no doubt that if he does stay it will be under sufferance, and undoubtedly the promise that he can go next season. In short, you will be cheering on a player who, if he hasn't already left physically, has almost certainly left mentally. So, will you cheer him? Or will you give the rat what he truly deserves?
I asked this very question on the Pool board. The consensus seemed to be he will be tolerated if he puts in a shift. You may need to sign out to view http://www.not606.com/showthread.php/213957-Suarez-News-(-ONTOPIC)/page142
Yes, it has been a long time since the Mousers permitted me to put across intelligent questions in the vein. Surely, I've served my ban by now? Even murderers get let out of prison after 4 years.
