obviously i'd have messi or ronaldo before him! likewise iniesta but i doubt anyone has enough money to buy any of them though. i was trying to be realistic, so say i was given £80m to spend, i'd buy luiz as my biggest buy
I agree with you in terms of where we should be spending our money, for me if we can have him and Ola great but if it's a choice between Ola or Quags I would go for Ola as that's where I feel we are lacking.
the italians do have a tendency to stick what the player will earn in there too, thus making it a total deal worth say £12m. so say the fee was £7.5m and the player earned £30k a week on a 3 year deal, that would make the deal worth £12m
He's 26 mate hardly a kid and as a centre half nothing short of a liability regardless of his technique. He'd be good at Barca though as they defend high up the pitch and he'd get more freedom but under Mourinho I think he's going to struggle. In the PL I think he's better suited to CM.
Completely agree with that last bit, he would suit Barcelona much more than a team under mourinhos management.
Notice from that list that only Luiz is a defender? When people think of dream teams they always build from the front with strikers and midfielders, almost never from the back. I'm not arguing that these are some of, if not the best players in the world (missing Neymar perhaps) but not one of them is in the Champions league winners team... Back to Norwich. CH has built from the back (last season) and added much to the front this season. It'll be an interesting season as to how this plays out and compares to last season... and whether this is a good philosophy in building a team in general.
Indeed and let's just hope we don't have any home games at least where the team is sent out 'not to lose'!!!!
Not sure if it's been posted, but apparently West Brom are interested in Quagliarella too. Not sure of the reliability of this (read: very low), but I've seen a report of a bid of £6m on twitter, which seems lower than any previous rumour, unless as Supers suggested other figures included wages, and we're offering a reasonably long contract.
If true their in cloud cookooland, there is no way they'll get him for that!, especially considering our offer of 8m(it think it was that) was rejected.
Why do people continue to think that this is an open question, I mean building a team from the back? It's as if there has never been any serious research into this and similar issues and all we have to go on is what each one of us has managed to cull from our own limited experience of watching football!
Twitter just now: "Norwich City is lang wachten op Ola Toivonen zat en richt pijlen op Fiorentina’s Mounir El Hamdaoui (La Gazetta Dello Sport)" "Norwich City's long wait for Ola Toivonen and was aimed arrows on Fiorentina's Mounir El Hamdaoui (La Gazzetta Dello Sport)" https://twitter.com/PSVActueel Also: "Norwich is het wachten zat en laat Toivonen vallen." "Norwich is tired of waiting and leave Toivonen" https://twitter.com/DIEHARDPSV So CH may have given up on Ola.
That might be just to force Toivonen to get on with it and panic. We are in a much stronger bargaining position than we were a month ago - we no longer need him, it would just be quite nice!
Not sure if I totally agree. We've spent the best part of £14m on two new strikers but apart from Fer - who CH admits he hasn't figured his best position in the team yet, we haven't improved the supply line to those strikers. Reinforced to a point by Tuesday's performance. I still think we do need him - or someone of similar attributes to 'complete the jigsaw'. http://www.eveningnews24.co.uk/spor...for_norwich_city_boss_chris_hughton_1_2323816
Fair enough, we'll have to agree to disagree - I would be satisfied with Howson/Hoolahan/Butterfield as the link. While Toivonen is clearly very good, I also worry that his height will make it too tempting to boot up the pitch, like Everton at their worst with a very advanced Fellaini
