What about Toda? I remeber when he got signed. It said on the official website "Spurs welcome Toda". Did he actually ever play a game? Talk about a marketing ploy to raise our profile in the far East or what!
They may have been mentioned , Keith Weller, Ian Moores, Jason Dozzell, John Pratt, Terry meathook Naylor, Mcallister , John Duncan,
Well if you will play me out of position - I was always a Mark Hughes-esque forward (that wanted to play like Teddy Sheringham)
Alan Nielsen is one of a long list of average midfielders that played for us in the last 15 years. Up until recently the centre of our midfield has been so mediocre. From those days up until the Sean Davis/ Michael Brown era we really have been crap in that area. Before we signed Modric who was the last really good central midfield player we had? I mean good enough to play for anyone in the league? I'm struggling.
Yeah true TJ I liked him too. I sort of class him in the same era as Modric when we were slowly getting a better squad.
Gotta say I thought Davids was a bit crap when he played for us. Seemed to be another yellow card machine (though I remember being perpetually surprised that he did not get as many cards as I thought he deserved). Plus he played out on the left of midfield for a fair chunk of his Spurs career. Remember those days? When we'd sign Edgar Davids to play left wing?!
I think that pretty much from the very day he left we've had worse options on the bench than Krancjar. Wouldn't want to start him in the centre of midfield, mind.
That was our period where we didn't have any left wingers, so played a central midfielder out there (Tainio, Murphy, O'Hara and Malbranque played out there as well, and Modric was played there for a period as well) - there was a period between Andy Reid being sold in August 2006 and Bale getting his chance in January 2010 where we didn't have a legitimate left winger playing on the left wing!
