Jane Austen to be on the back of £10's from 2017. This guy obviously doesn't like it. Tbh I'm sure we could have found some one better to be on the back.
I love Jane Austen...a master of subtle irony. The only classics I will reread. However, the main point of what has happened is not the merit of an author, but how a nasty misogynist is bravely texting a woman and threatening to rape her every minute. People like this terrorise and bully people and drive them away from Twitter/FB or whatever the newest fad is. Glad he's been caught...little coward, thinking he can hide behind a computer screen. I hope he gets the punishment he deserves.
Just to clarify I think the victim of the rape threat ran a campaign that was sexist and should have expected (and no doubt did expect) conflict on some level. I'm not at all justifying any threat or victimblaming or whatever but I can see why someone would quite rationally be annoyed by her divisive campaign. Why should you leave twitter? Hopefully twitter will make it easier to block abusive posts without comprimising your posting, a hard thing to do though probably.Even if it wasn't sexist, no one should be allowed to annoyingly tweet someone to the point where they can't even use twitter. It would be the same as phoning someone constantly...it's plain harassment. Now I know you can just leave twitter and FB, but why should you?
Bolt has accepted Farah's challenge to a charity race at 600 m. That is probably the right distance, giving both a chance.
She's a feminist so bound to be a little sexist. She ran a campaign moaning about there not being a female on a bank note. The Bank of England then made a competition which Austen won due to a hell of a lot of feminist's voting for her.I don't know anything about the person concerned or any other activities she may be involved with, but campaigning for a woman to be on a banknote is hardly divisive. Personally, it's not something I care about...a famous person is a famous person to me...male or female. I don't go round looking to be offended, so probably I wouldn't have noticed that they were all men. There are more important things to worry about. However, resorting to harassment rather than logical debate merely demonstrates what a little squirt the police are dealing with. A good plan would be to insist he apologises in person to deflate his ego. Another woman similarly treated outed the man concerned and exposed him to similar irate abuse...he apologised.

It's not just the pain it's the cost that annoys me more.
Definitely the pain for me.
