Boring!!!!
So why post or read? You know what the subject is. Are you not able to avoid it completely?
Boring!!!!
But they'll only be confused if they've heard of HULL CITY AFC as HULL CITY AFC.
If they've never heard of us or barely then it won't make for any confusion.
Lets be clear... we are Hull City AFC
This thread made my day.
I've given my two cents on this so won't again but just like to comment on one of the last points you made.
Are you serious when you say that "Hull City Tigers" could somehow be confused by anyone outside of the city as being Hull's new Table tennis or Lacrosse team, rather than its football team, which the majority of people know to be nicknamed the Tigers.
Never heard such tripe before. If that's the kind of argument you're fighting with I honestly don't expect much of a result.
Why will they understand that "Hull City Tigers" is the same as "Hull City" that they see on the football results and football pitch? Why not use "Hull City" everywhere (subject to national and international media shortening it to Hull)?
I see you didn't attempt to answer my other questions.
So you're coming for the opener at Stamford Bridge I presume? Since you go to every game. Why don't you come over to mine for a couple before the game, I've got some kleenex and some Ice cream if you fancy a big sob.
Bullshit! It sounds very American or like a Speedway team. We shouldn't be sacrificing the clubs traditional name! With you Peter on this one.
You don't see United changing their name to Manchester Devils do you??? Why should we???
Congratulations on finally going to a game.
And being able to afford tissues and ice cream.
Things must be looking up.

would have been funny though mr "big bucks"Pointless arguing about the commercial viability of a name change - the problem for me is that it reflects a state of mind that I am uncomfortable with, an overly 'commercial' business oriented way of looking at the world, it's why millions of Brazillians took to the streets, it's why tickets to matches are becoming out of reach for many, it's why many people are concerned about the creeping privatisation of the NHS & so on. It may make some kind of 'commercial' sense but not any kind of sense if - unlike Maggie - you happen to believe that there is such a thing as 'society'. This may sound a tad over the top re a poxy name change but it does actually matter I think. Everything starts just as an idea...
So you are coming?
No, unfortunately, I'm in Portugal for the opener.
But if you want to come over, I'll get you an ice cream.
I'm sure Baroness Thatcher believed in 'society'.
What she didn't buy into was ascribing so many ills and problems as being 'society's' fault.
It is individuals and people who create crime and bad situations - not 'society'.
"Society made me do it" could no longer be used as a pathetic excuse for criminals and their liberal apologists like Lord Longford.
Happy to have cleared that up for you.
Because you're asking questions that only the Allams can answer.
Are you serious though? or trolling? You simply assume people are complete thickos or what? You think there will be mass confusion when people read Hull city on the tv but hear Hull city Tigers?
I don't believe anyone has confused us up until now when they see HULL CITY on bbc sports results but then hear Alan Hansen call us HULL.
Thank you, clearly we are each responsible for our actions but never the less our understanding of the world & the people in it (& thus a massive influence upon our actions) is constructed within the contexts in which we find ourselves. Check out Ken Loache's film "1945", different time different contexts different beliefs.Didnt construct the NHS & nationalise rail & power for 'commercial' reasons, quite the opposite in fact...
Irrelevant, Manchester United are the most recognised football team in the world so no they wouldn't.
Whatever.
The NHS is unsustainable and is no longer fit for purpose.
A lot has changed since 1945.
We how have a nation of lazy obese diabetics, self-obsessed airheads getting piss-flap surgery, Congolese AIDS 'health tourists' and an army of opportunist 'consultants' and 'specialists'.
It can't go on.
What about selling tickets for a football match? Business or football?
Exactly! This is what you get in a commercially orientated world & why we should oppose changing our name.I'm only half joking...BTW is that the west stand you were describing?
Business. The actual team running around on the green stuff kicking a ball, that's a football activity, selling stuff is a commercial activity.
Why do you keep asking silly questions?
Do you actually believe there are plans to change the badge on the shirts? If you do, why do you think that?
What's the point of all the other fluff you keep asking about? I'm assuming you don't support the commercial side of the organisation behind the mighty Tigers, so why the obsession with it?
