Next season, some clubs playing in West Yorkshire will benefit from the whiny emails sent by Hull City fans.

It's easy to post sarcastic comments on a football forum, it takes rather more to actually do something.

Why not? What about this report:

"But, speaking on tonight’s edition of SportsTalk on Radio Humberside, Thompson was adamant that there is no ‘grand plan’ to change the name which the club has had for the past 109 years.

When asked if there was a plan to change the club’s name, he said: “No. The business name was changed this year to Hull City Tigers."

"You do realise that that's just a way to make the transition... eventually they'll want everything to be under one name, a name that the Allams obviously feel rings better and will appeal more to the masses."

This is one opinion and Nick Thompson said there was no plan to change the name.

Which do you think is correct? Are they planning to change the name or not? If you don't think there is a plan to change the name which you seem to be saying then why change the name of the limited company and try to justify it with some nonsense about "football activities" and "business activities"? If they are wanting different names long term then this is contrary to any branding theory.

There no longer exists a business called Hull City AFC ltd, it is now Hull City Tigers Ltd has been since march. The distinction is between the football remaining as Hull City and the business as Hull City Tigers Ltd.

No kidding. I had to catch a bus and everything. That was a wholly real and actual thing that happened. Subtle difference I know.

I don't see any protests being organised for this name change though. Probably because it's easy to post whiney comments and email whiney messages to people than it is to actually do anything.

So why was Sagbo photographed next to Hull City Tigers badge? Was his signing a "business activity" or a "football activity"?

If the majority of people know the club's nickname is the Tigers why change the name? The people who don't know the nickname, maybe because they live outside the UK, may be confused.

Why was Hull Tigers used? Do you like that or not?

Business. When hes running around on the green stuff kicking a ball, that's a football activity, I expect to see him with a Hull City AFC badge in that situation.

I think NT is just a middleman in this. I think the Allams want the change for whatever personal reason and he and others are trying to find a way to make it happen, without making a few fans like OLM cry and this is proving to be rather difficult and confusing to do it.

So you're coming for the opener at Stamford Bridge I presume? Since you go to every game. Why don't you come over to mine for a couple before the game, I've got some kleenex and some Ice cream if you fancy a big sob.

As Hull City AFC (tigers)ltd no longer exists, the answer has to be simple. We are now Hull City Tigers ltd

To be honest, that is not a problem for me, we have been trading as all sorts of different companies for ages. But the club name is still Hull City AFC according to the EPL

But they'll only be confused if they've heard of HULL CITY AFC as HULL CITY AFC.

If they've never heard of us or barely then it won't make for any confusion.

I don't think anybody disputes that. The question is for how long?
