Transfer Rumours Transfer Rumours Thread

  1. Fair point but you'll see what I mean if you sign him. As brilliant as he is, he is very frustrating at times too. He wriggles and creates space fantastically but then wants to do it all on his own despite one or more of his teammates being in a better position. On top of that, he'll take three or four times before he hits the target. His shots to goals ratio is worse than Andy Coles <laugh>

Don't take this the wrong way, but I think you'd see an even improved Suarez at Arsenal with the players around him.

  3. I had this argument on the Suarez thread the other day <laugh>

I got laughed at by, what was IMO, some Arsenal biasedness. The only player I said I'd pick over Arsenal's was Gerrard over Wilshire too, purely based on Jack's injury record.

A top striker/forward (suarez looking the most likely at the moment), another midfield option (Fabregas, Fellaini - could use a strong midfilder, but would also take another creative player, both types if we have the funds), if Gervinho leaves then Bernard or some other LWF comming in, some defensive cover is maybe needed depending on Vermaelens injury and how ready wenger feels Miquel is and then it depends what happens with flappy - i wouldn't say no to a better GK to fight it out with the young pole but i wouldn't be too disappointed if we kept the two options we have at the moment.

So i think we are likely to see 1 ST, 1 LWF, 1-2 Midfielders - with possibilities of a defender or GK probably decided quite late in the transfer window. Maybe thats wishful thinking but we are fairly low on squad numbers - I wouldn't expect all those players to be first team players either.

I think Suarez would trust the players around him at Arsenal more as well. With players like Cazorla, Wilshere and Rosicky, who like Suarez have good close control, can go past players and keep onto posession he would become more of a team player - i think a lot of the time when he is greedy its because he is relied upon so heavily, he thinks if he doesnt score no-one will. At Arsenal the goals are spread around the team a lot with several players able to score frequently and i think Suarez would be able to flurish in the circumstances he would be in at Arsenal.

  6. Fair enough, everyone is entitled to their opinion but I think you would be retracted those words if he was to join. Sturridge, Coutinho and Gerrard aren't exactly **** players either, all three have a good first touch, can pass and finish too<ok>

Interesting that you listed Rosicky though. I used to really rate him back in his Dortmund days and was pleased to see him sign for a Premier League club but he simply not the same player. Since he's not exactly been setting the world alight at Arsenal, nor as he been able to nail down a first team spot, I thought you would have listed someone else ahead of him <ok>

Persistent injuries have ruined what was a promising career. Trust me though, he is anything but average.

I mention Rosicky because he is the type of player i think Suarez will play well with, we have very creative, good passers of the ball, but able to be very direct at the same time (Rosicky, wilsheree and cazorla all fall into this category) and i think this would benefit him alot with hsi style. I also think that he would trust our team to be able to win without having the same pressureo n him to do it all alone which i think will allow him to work better with his team mates.

I don't think the players you mention are poor players i just think the players at Arsenal are of slightly better quality and of a style that will work well with Suarez. Walcott and Ramsey i think are both very good players and im sure just liek the liverpool players you mention they could play well with him. But particularly Arsenals creative, flair type players would fit very well with him i think.

I'm waiting until closer to the end of the window before i start to panic and get frustrated tbh. I'll wait and see what happens.

I honestly believe there will be some movement in the transfer market now the club have returned from the far east.Gazidis & Wenger have dug themselves into hole by saying we can compete with anyone given the transfer budget we have.

Great little article that sums up what the majority think. I don't think I disagree with much in it. Funny, I could talk to all the Arsenal fans in my office (and there are quite a few) and all of them would say the same. Unfortunately this transfer window continues to be a frustrating and painful affair. I wish the whole Suarez affair could be addressed quicker, but I doubt a quick resolution is on the cards.
