A few too many replies from excitable types with apathetic views to bother responding to individually, surfice to say that the initial raising of the issues has certainly slowed down where this was heading, so hardly a waste of time.
The reasons some object are quite clear. Few people have voiced support, the noisiest ones seem to be the apathetyic types who cliam not to care, but seem keen on it going ahead, but as yet have offered no solid reason as to how the club would benefit. I'd call that a clear lack of a firm base.

The Last Word Syndrome is characterized by, obviously, having to have the last word in any discussions or argument. Its secondary symptoms include a pathological need to justify this compulsion via proving the other party’s opinion is unworthy by uncovering any and all faults in others, incessantly harping on these as a means of validation. This is as opposed to, say, using facts and logic as a means of supporting ones assertions.

As I said, I don't think the lad's a full shilling and that's an informed opinion, an observation not an insult. He's just one of a line posting drivel in the hope someone posts a reply they can be offended by.
