We would have the TV money and ticket sales to spend. Obviously as season ticket and TV money comes in that increases the worth of the club immediately but it would also mean cash in the bank. It all depends on what the Allam's would sell for.

Before Adam stepped in I thought the fans could afford it because it might have only cost a few hundred grand but now, being in the Premier League, the club is worth a lot more - even if clubs have to spend all their extra income in an attempt to stay there.

I think the best bet now is to contact the Premier League and FA. If we stress how the name change lowers the tone by appearing mickey mouse rather than promoting the traditions of English football then they may ensure the name change isn't acceptable.

I watched the rugby derby on TV yesterday and I thoroughly enjoyed it. There was no cringeworthy dancing after scoring and no rolling around after getting clattered. It reminded me of when I used to go to Rovers at Craven Park. What I didn't like was when they listed the fixtures or results - every club except Hull, Rovers and St Helen's had a silly name.
