Top Argentine striker Javier Saviola looking to sign. http://http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2362271/Javier-Saviola-join-Queens-Park-Rangers.html Bit worried about his age, another one looking for a final payday? Although would be a good accompaniment for Ale. I don't know much about him other than what's in the article.
Harold on SCS sofa news claiming if we don't sign Hooper then we may put in a offer for Lennon that's Neil not Aaron ... He was brilliant for the foxes
Hull City Offer £1.5m for QPR Midfielder Jermaine Jenas by Thomas Bore July 16th, 2013 Steve Bruce hopes to land Loftus Road man. Hull City are set to offer Queens Park Rangers £1.5million for Jermaine Jenas, after losing out on Stoke City midfielder Wilson Palacios according to the Daily Star. Steve Bruce wants to sign a new central midfielder to help his sides fight for survival next season, but Honduran star [Palacios] appears to be on his way to Loftus Road since Harry Redknapp gave up on Scott Parker. The QPR boss wanted the Spurs midfielder and was willing to pay the £2million asking price â set by Andre Villas Boas â but the English international has no intention of dropping down to the second tier of English football, with the 2014 World Cup approaching. Samba Diakite will be used as part of the deal that sees Palacios leave the Potters this summer. http://www.caughtoffside.com/2013/07/16/hull-city-offer-1-5m-for-qpr-midfielder-jermaine-jenas/? Adel Taarabt is in Bruce's sights By Joe Public Updated Tuesday, 16th July 2013 Adel Taarabt is the latest player to be caught in Bruce's net as he continues to trawl the footballing world for a summer signing After falling foul of Harry Redknap, Taarabt has thrown in the towel at QPR and has decided to switch clubs. The most likely club is Marseille who have shown interest but Taarabt is also keen as his sister still lives there. The 24 year old midfielder is on Bruce's watch list and QPR are more than keen to loan the player out. Stoke City are also in the running for his services as are two undesclosed German sides. Taarabt comes with a £50K a week price tag which maybe too much for the allams to digest and the Morrocan International has already stated " If OM want me, I'm going. My sisters still live in Marseille. This is the first club I supported." so the former Spurs player will have to have a very attractive package laid at his feet by Hull City. But is Taarabt trouble? His discapline is questionable and has a tempremental attitude deciding to end his international career the day after being dropped to the bench for an African Nation's qualifier against Algeria. For an attacking midfielder his goal scoring tally is 7 for the past two seasons with 10 assists and for my money, we need a player with a little more in his locker. I say Bon Voyage Monsieur Taarabt. http://www.hullcity-mad.co.uk/news/tmnw/adel_taarabt_is_in_bruces_sights_800090/index.shtml?
Rumours flying around Twitter (not a reliable source mind), that we want Karl Henry of Wolves. Blimey, really not what we need at all!!!
One time QPR target Danny Graham signs for season long loan at Hull; poor lad can't seem to settle anywhere since leaving Watford. Hull City have signed Sunderland striker Danny Graham on a season-long loan deal. The 27-year-old joined the Black Cats from Swansea for £5m in January but failed to score in 13 appearances. Graham started his career at Middlesbrough before spells at Carlisle, Watford and the Swans. "I know I'm coming to a good club with a top manager, a fantastic stadium and some very good players," Graham told the club website. "When the chance came to sign here on loan, I jumped at it. It's great to come to a club where everybody is on a high after winning promotion and I've only heard good things about this club. "I'd spoken to the manager at Sunderland and been told that I wasn't part of the plans." Tigers boss Steve Bruce will be hoping Graham can recapture the form that saw him score 12 goals in the Swans' debut season in the Premier League in 2011-12. Bruce acknowledged earlier this week that signing a striker was a priority after his side gained promotion from the Championship despite having scored just 61 league goals in 46 games, less than any of the other teams in the top half of the table. A move for Burnley's Charlie Austin fell through last week after the 24-year-old failed a medical and Celtic rejected a bid for Gary Hooper last month. Graham is the sixth player to join the Tigers this summer after goalkeepers Allan McGregor and Steve Harper, defenders Maynor Figueroa and Curtis Davies and midfielder Ahmed Elmohamady.
This announced on twitter as a fact...(well he was told by someone who he says is always right)...that Charlie Austin is 'done and dusted...Announced on Thursday'. Something about that sentence that rings a bell.
£1m Karl Henry is sort of leader QPR need, claims Harry Redknapp SIMON JOHNSON Published: 23 July 2013 Updated: 12:03 Queens Park Rangers hope to complete the £1million signing of Wolves captain Karl Henry today, writes Simon Johnson. Henry is in London for a medical and Harry Redknapp believes the 30‑year-old can play a major role in helping Rangers win promotion back to the Premier League. “I’ve always liked Karl,” said the QPR manager. “He’s a good sort, he’s a competitor. He looks like he wants to win. “He’s captain of Wolves and whenever I came up against him he always had that attitude about him that he’s very determined. I think he is what we need at the club. “He’s a bit of a leader on the pitch and he will be a big asset for us. He is having a medical and it should go through today.” Redknapp is keen to make more signings before QPR kick off the season against Sheffield Wednesday on August 3 and is still in talks with Celtic over striker Gary Hooper. Rangers had a £4.5million offer rejected last week but Redknapp says an agreement is not “far away”. Hooper has been included in Celtic’s squad for their Champions League qualifier against Cliftonville tonight. Redknapp is also believed to be looking at Burnley striker Charlie Austin, despite the forward seeing a move to Hull fall through earlier this month after failing a medical. Rangers will fund their spending by selling some players, with Nottingham Forest closing in on a deal for striker Jamie Mackie. Right-back Jose Bosingwa has travelled to Turkey to complete a move to Trabzonspor. The former Chelsea defender is set to sign a two-year deal.
Ben Haim joins Standard Liege on free transfer (Reuters) - Israel international Tal Ben Haim, who spent almost a decade in English soccer, has joined Belgium's Standard Liege on a two-year deal, the club said on its website on Wednesday. The 31-year-old moves on a free transfer after a short-term contract at Queens Park Rangers, who were relegated from the Premier League last season, ended last month. Ben Haim went to England in 2004 to join Bolton Wanderers from Maccabi Tel Aviv and played then at Chelsea, Manchester City, Sunderland, Portsmouth, West Ham United and QPR. Standard play KR Reykjavik of Iceland in the Europa League second qualifying round on Thursday, leading 3-1 from last week's first leg, and start the new Belgian league season this weekend.
Harry Redknapp delighted to agree deal for 'proven scorer' Gary Hooper STV 24 July 2013 19:05 BST Tweet Facebook Tweet Google Gary Hooper looks set to move to QPR after a fee was agreed with Celtic.SNS Group Queens Park Rangers manager Harry Redknapp has told STV that a deal to sign Celtic's Gary Hooper is almost done and that he hopes he is signing the Championship's next top scorer. Celtic accepted a bid of just under £5m from QPR for Hooper on Wednesday afternoon and the player is close to completing a move to Loftus Road. Redknapp said that he had been tracking Hooper's progress for the player's whole career and had seen him prove his credentials as a striker during his time under Celtic boss Neil Lennon. "It’s all been agreed," Redknapp told STV. "I’ve not been dealing with it but the chief executive and the chairman have been dealing with Celtic. "Hopefully we’re close to finally getting there but until it’s done you’re never sure. " He’s a player we’ve been chasing for a while and now we’ve agreed a deal with Celtic. "We’ve followed him from his days at Gray’s Athletic to Southend to Scunthorpe. Then he’s gone and scored goals at the highest level with Celtic. "So he’s proved that he’s a goalscorer and hopefully he can score some goals in the Championship now." QPR were relegated from the English Premier League last season but Redknapp said that he was optimistic that Hooper's goals could win the Rs promotion from the Championship at the first time of asking. If that was achieved, the veteran manager said he wouldn't rule out Hooper achieving his international ambitions with England ahead of next year's World Cup. "I would love to see him being leading goalscorer in the Championship and hopefully that would mean us being promoted," he added. "If he came here and was a prolific scorer then you never know [about an England call]. We’re not overloaded with great strikers in England, that’s for sure, and everyone’s looking for a good goalscorer."
