But the comment I originally responded to was about there no being a bigger step up than to Arsenal. I agree that going from Liverpool to Arsenal is an improvement but I was arguing against it being impossible to make a bigger step. You've kind of just agreed with me above <ok>

PS...apologies because I was talking to you like you was an Arsenal from and I have just noticed your signature picture <laugh>

Ha, no, sadly for me mate, the Champions League is just some tin pot tournament these 4 clubs chat on about.

It's all about 17th man, that's the real prize!

I never related it to clubs, I said the biggest step up is to Champions League, and that I stand by. I didn't say Arsenal were the biggest individual club that the nibbler could sign for.

That's quite the achievement when you start from scratch every two years though <whistle>

You can buy a hell of a partner for Sturridge with £40million. One that wants to be at the club.

Until he decides he doesn't want to be, but that's fine. Players will come and go there won't be many like Gerrard, Carra or even Henry but when they come along those are the special players. Suarez is just another Torres and we're better rid of him.

I think this is the real deal for us, poaching all of Inter and Udinese's scouts.

Every new signing, including Mannone who terrifies me after having WonderMig, looked excellent today, I think it was needed after some horror signings.

We'll be half decent this year, and the lads are fit as **** under Paolo, he's been torturing the ****ers, ha.

That requires needless clicking, I'll just wait. :emoticon-0103-cool:

He'll be back to tell us to **** off soon I should think. Shame cause I quite like it here <ok> :)

Edit - even when on someone else's board you end up derailing the thread, ****ing hell <laugh><doh>

The Independent claim that Suarez and his agent believe Arsenal's offer has triggered a clause forcing Liverpool to sell, as they finished outside the top four, and do not know why the bid has been rejected.

http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/...er-talks-as-liverpool-stand-firm-8730931.html

"Suarez and his agent, Pere Guardiola, brother of the Bayern Munich manager Pep, have worked on the understanding that a clause in the player’s contract states that Liverpool’s failure this season to secure Champions League football means any bid in excess of £40m from a club in the competition would require Liverpool to sell the player. They are mystified as to why Liverpool have rejected the Arsenal bid out of hand."
