I can see one of the french sugar daddy teams hijacking this if we drag it too far into deadline day. I'm sure Liverpool will try to drag this on long enough hoping for a foreign club to offer 45M+.

Spearing will go, we agreed a deal for him to go to Blackburn but he turned it down (can't blame him)

Downing needs to go asap. Send him anywhere and I'll pay his bus fare!!!

Henderson is a very good squad player, the type that Man Utd built their dynasty on. high wages for a squad player though.

I like Johnson but I'm inclined to agree. Not because he's not good enough but because he is one of many players that represent the last three or four years (he came in the season after we finished second)

Skrtel - I couldn't agree more. You won't find a bigger Liverpool supporting critic of him!!!

Not sure what to make of the four incoming players either TBH.

Problem is, Rogers (sp) inherited a squad full of old or useless players on high wages and has had to make do (and has done pretty well). When Borini got injured last season and you had only Suarez I thought you were done but you managed to have a reasonable campaign although not nearly enough for a club like Liverpool. Should have been challenging for top 4 along with Sp*rs, Everton and Arsenal. In any case, I think Rogers has more stability this time (apart from the Suarez issue), expect him to bring in some Wenger-esque signings, get rid of some dead wood and next season you can find yourself in the 5-6 if you play your cards right.

Hope so <ok>

Although, if you drag it out to deadline day I see two things happening:

1) Real Madrid getting involved (if this happens there will only be one place Luis will go)

and

2) We won't sell on the last day UNLESS we have a suitable replacement lined up ready and waiting at a reasonable price.

That bits a bit of a myth. Last season we had the youngest average age in the Premier League. The only old players that were shipped out the summer before were Bellamy, Maxi, Aurelio (who never played) and Kuyt. Can't argue with the useless part considering the quick list we just posted above <laugh>

I'd be happy with sixth this season, its shows improvement on last season (seventh) but I'd expect us to be in with a shout of fourth come the final two games.

The striker situation last year was ridiculous but I'm glad we didn't get Dempsey!

I think Everton will struggle this season without Moyes the Bartender, so I can see Liverpool finishing above them. Also the spuds relied heavily on Bale last season, he single handedly won them twenty two points <yikes> which without him, they would have finished behind you. So if he goes to Madrid or fails to recreate another blistering season then I can see you pushing the spuds also. Can't see you displacing any team from the top four though to be honest.

I think Bale will be at Spurs next season, can't see anyone paying £70+ for him, he's no C.Ronaldo! <ok> Certainly won't if Suarez ends up at Real <whistle>

If we keep Suarez (<doh>) then I think we would be able to give you and Spurs a run for your money if things go our way but without him? Depends how wisely we spend the loot I guess.

I agree about Everton. I don't think they will fall away but they will drop away from the top six slightly.

Apologies, I was mistakenly referring to the season before under King Kenny where you had the old players listed there.

Weren't Villa highlighted every week in the run in for this? Well, forget the question, it was Villa, by a distance, although this cpuld have been first XI rather than squad.

Maybe you cats with your flash non relegation battling teams just ignore us bottom-halfers :(
