Suarez was playing today like a man that did not want to get injured. No chasing down. No 50/50 challenges. No getting in the box. Dropped deep/drifted wide and moved the ball on as soon as he got it.

  2. No, I'll give you that, he didn't seem happy but I don't care and I don't think the club will either. If he wants to leave and the clubs knows it, they will try to do a deal but only on their terms. That's how it should be too.

This bollox about the release clause and us having to allow Luis to speak to you guys because a bid of over £40m has been made but then, you still need to meet our asking price is a pretty good example. Ian Ayre: "Fair enough Luis, go and speak to Mr Wenger, agree terms etc, but until Arsenal offer what we want, you're not going anyway my son".

I think this is nailed on to happen now.

Be an incredible signing, and would make Podolski even more of a threat.

This could be one of those signings that knocks 10-12 points off the gap in one, Suarez is a stunning footballer, and an absolute match winner.

If he wants the move, he will get the move.

I think the point is if Arsenal offer such great terms that Suarez becomes desperate for the transfer he will be much more difficult for Liverpool to handle and kick up a big fuss - he is hardly someone to hide his emotions. I agree with the others about him today he was playing like he isn't happy and doesn't want to get injured and jeperdise(sp?) a move away. If Arsenal convince him that they are the right destination and now is the time to move then it will make it very difficult for Liverpool not to make some sort of deal.

I also agree they will be doing everything they can to make sure if he leaves they get the best price, which is why they have come out with the £50mil price tag. Rogers sounds very irritated by the whole situation with his comments about suarez loyalty to fans. But i do think they will do a deal at under £50mil. He isnt worth that much and you could get in good replacements with £40-45mil.

  5. You would think but I think you will be surprised. Suarez runs his heart out for the team and he would would through a brick wall for his teammates but he is not a team player (if you understand that <laugh>). When he does the tricks and turns he is phenomenal but once he gets into space he never looks up and his finishing (despite getting so many last year) is woeful!

Sounds like you don't rate him as much more than around a £2Om player then <laugh>

  7. Realistically, if we were buying him, I'd say he was a £30m player but we won't sell him for that, never mind to a rival <ok>

I'd agree, I think he is probably a £30m player, I reckon you should be grateful for £40m

It's up to Liverpool now, I highly doubt anybody, even Madrid, would pay more than 45 million for Suarez, that's if they're even willing to go over 40 million, or even willing to spend 40 million itself!

So Liverpool can play hardball, and in the end, don't sell Suarez, and basically keep a player who's not happy, and lose out on a lot of money. Now I'd like to know what Liverpool are 'smoking', 40 million is a lot of money for them to be able to go and buy decent players to make a push for the top 4. 40 million would help Liverpool recoup a lot of waste money they spent on EHEM Andy Caroll.

Suarez has said he's happy with Arsenal's interest, that's stage one of saying "yeah I'm interested" and now reports saying he wants to talk with Arsenal, and will be allowed to do so, so why'd you want to keep a player who's clearly intent on moving now, especially when you can make huge money off him, one of the biggest transfer deals in English football.

Liverpool, stop being morons, do the right thing, give us Suarez, take 40 million, and go buy 2-3 top quality players.

Worked for us re Modric/Chelsea. Not a long term solution, but he did well for us that year.

We should throw in Chamakh + Bendtner as part of the deal, :-D, tell Liverpool we will give them two top quality strikers in return, everybody is happy.

It didn't really work though did it because you kept him against his will and then sold him for £30m less than a year later.

    I like your thinking .... <ok>

  16. You sound a bit desperate to get him <whistle>

As I've said, realistically he is worth about £30m. However, you have to allow for British-based-tax and rival-tax, not to mention other players such as Neymar, Cavani, etc going for a lot more <ok>

Bendtner or Chamakh would both be good back-up options for Liverpool tbh, one of them could be what Caroll was supposed to be - there big man up top option. Bendtner and Chamakh have both done well at times for us and internationaly and both have CL experience. Granted neither are world beaters and you wouldn't want to spend money on them! But as a free transfer as squad players they could give liverpool a bit of depth? :p

I was thinking more along the lines of space mate.

Regardless of whether Luis is selfish or not, a defender is gonna be occupied by his constant movement, and that clears space for Podolski.

Add Cazorla and the pace of Walcott, with the guile of Wilshere and you have an unplayable front 4 or 5.

If Cesc was added to this, there'd be a genuine title shot in there.

Suarez would make 3 or 4 players at Arsenal's lives easier, signing him is not like signing one player, it's opening up a lot of space for 4 or 5 world class players in one swoop.

Players like Neymar, Cavani and Falcao who have all gone for mega money are all better than Suarez imo and all had mega rich clubs competing for there signatures. At the moment it would seem the only concrete interest in Suarez is from Arsenal with a vague sign of interest from RM who i dont think will pay big for him. So although im sure you will get a good fee for him if we sign him, i can't see it being as high as £50mil. Anything over £40mil will be good business for Liverpool and give them the money to srengthen the squad.

  20. We had Coutinho, Sturridge, Sterling and Gerrard around him, hardly Queens Park Rangers is it <doh>
