If Arsenal moving Mertesacker from the no. 4 shirt is a sign Cesc is coming back, then by that logic United keeping Phil Jones at no. 4 is a sign they aren't serious about trying to buy him.
Is it possible that he may be encouraging United to bid, knowing it will activate the release clause, and knowing full well that Cesc will only choose Arsenal? Up to his tricks again, only for us this time?
I doubt it tbh. But what I will say is SSN are royally ****ing me off, whenever they talk about Cesc there is ZERO mention of Arsenal. Nothing. As if we don't exist. Everybody and their dogs know we have 1st option on Cesc, why is that not being mentioned on Sky? Ok there is no guarantee whatsoever that if Cesc is offered to us that either 1, we will take him or 2, he will come back to us but the fact is this is a potentially massive stumbling block for United and the transfer is being reported as if it doesn't exist. So what is Sky's game? Are they just brown nosing United as usual? Do they not know about the clause? Is there an injunction preventing Cesc being linked to Arsenal on Sky? What the **** is their game?
This deal is not as straight forward as they are making it look. They have basically said if Barca accept the bid then Cesc will join United.
Seen a few papers link us to Bernard, and with Gervinho also possibly leaving, there would be space for Bernard. The kid seems to have some serious talent and would give us something different with his combination of extreme speed and skill. Also, I think nobody in our squad has nailed down that position on the left.

Yes, and he also rates him but does think he needs another year in Brazilian football before moving.
Did you hear what Vickery said about Bernard adapting to the physical side of the PL ?
No, must have missed that bit, but clearly with him being 5 foot 5 he is going to struggle to adjust at the beginning. But many players have proved that size is not barrier if you have the talent, and from what I have seen of him, Bernard certainly has that.
Arsenal should go in for Lukaku. No way will Chelsea use him, because they don't view him as world class.
