None of us knows what's happening with regard to transfers,As I said on an earlier post I doubt very much if we'll hear anything before the team returns from Japan. We really need to stop getting worked up over what we read in newspapers or on the internet
My concern is that we always get players late and it takes a couple of months for them to gel and by that time we have already slipped. Rather spend a bit more money and get them in early. Get fellini and higuain so we can chill.....
I fear we've already messed up the Higuain transfer. We had agreed terms with the player weeks ago but Real Madrid have now hiked their asking price up. He also seems to be second choice for Mourinho so if they dont land Rooney I'm pretty sure he'll be next on the list.
I read somewhere £37m? How does a player go upwards in value from £23m to £37m...in the off season?! He's not worth anywhere near that.
Because we dithered and dithered and now another club with £100M+ to spend has waltzed in and Madrid have decided to raise the price due to the prospect of a bidding war. That being said, I don't think Napoli will sign him in the end, mainly because I don't see them paying £100K+ a week wages to anybody, Cavani was on something like £70K a week which says it all really. I think they will end up signing Abel Hernandez.
If i were more cynical i'd say we deliberately dithered so that Real could push the price up, just so we didn't have to sign Higuain, but Arsene could say "at least we tried" Actually, i am a cynic, so that's exactly what i'm saying.
You keep going on about us dithering, but you have zero evidence to back it up. The more likely scenario is that Real were waiting for Ancelotti to come in to make a decision and he's been the one to stall the deal by upping the asking price. Some people just want to bash the club for the sake of it, without really knowing what's going on at all.
I did read somewhere that Real did it so they could sell him to us as some master plan to get Bale next Summer. They're that obsessed with him, I could almost believe it.
Since when do Real Madrid give managers the last say on transfers? Mourinho nearly quit in his 1st season because of the lack of power he was given, only after he won them the league did they give him a say and they ended up having their worst season in quite a long time. Ancelotti is a yes man and I bet all he has control of is team selection (if he is lucky). Perez deals with transfers at Madrid, he told Higuain he was not wanted at the end of last season, and no matter who took over, Higuain was always going to be pushed out the door.
I have heard that aswell, I very much doubt Spurs' "partnership" with Madrid has anything to do with the collapse of the deal. If they show Levy the money (£60M+) then I am sure he will sell, regardless of what happens with Higuain/Arsenal.
Lol - our partnership is one of the biggest jokes in football. If Levy sells for £60m, I think I'll be able to look out the window and see the mushroom cloud as the Not606 servers blow up from us raging Spurs fans.
its ALL about the money , they dont give a flying fuck about the fans . If any club could make ten million quid , but in doing so would annoy every single fan of the club , they wouldnt miss a fuckin heartbeat. Thats the football business in the 21st century , totally sh1te .
yeah but you wouldnt then waste the whole fookin lot on some ****e like the average football board would. thieving bastards the lot of em
