This really is a feeble effort from the Aussies....looks like Beefy's prediction of a 5-0 whitewash might not be too far off the mark...Shame really as I enjoy the close, exciting Tests much more.

Bert Trautmann: A prisoner of war who became an English legend - http://www.givemesport.com/361205-bert-trautmann-a-prisoner-of-war-who-became-an-english-legend?tg=/

Another piece by myself, something a bit different. Naturally before my time, but would like to think I did his story justice.

You did, -DTLW. Nice article and shows why his life was out of the ordinary. You need to pop back and edit the meeting with then German national team coach Sepp Herberger from 1933 to 1953, I believe.

I can't see why they'd enforce the follow on. It's still only the second day, get the Aussie bowlers back out in the sun, try and bat til the morning of day 4 and set them an impossible run chase on a worn pitch.

This still stands. We have a 233 run lead so the plan should be to bat all day tomorrow and declare before lunch on day 4, leaving the Aussies a nominal target of 550-plus.

Mind you, you might not bother, because I posted up his demise earlier and it barely caused a ripple. They're all concentrating on England v Australia, and there's no room for anything else.

This conversation can be the wafer-thin ham in the big fat loaf of bread creating the sandwich then.

It's the story of movies.
