You'd have to off your head not to want Mata in our team. He is a class act. If there's any chance we could sign him we should go for it.
As much as I like Mata and would love him in our squad in a heartbeat I have always maintained Carzorla is the better player. And this is the key point. There isn't room for both of them and certainly not them and Wilshere. We could sign Mata as a backup and sit him on the bench in case of injury I suppose.
There are more than enough games in the season for them all to get games. I maintain that you'd have to be mad not to want Mata in your team.
Well you know that I am slightly mad, I have never been that taken with Mata. I think he is the type of player that gets great stats, looks good, but isn't as good for the team as he might appear. I feel the same way about Steven Gerrard. He is too defensively weak to be a midfielder, not enough pace or strength to be a forward. His offensive stats come out looking good, but everyone on the team has to forgo their attacking in order to cover for him.

I think 37 million is too much for Higuain. Ultimately he may be worth that price but it's not market value for a player who is not even an automatic starter for Madrid. Also I think both Suarez and Rooney will go for around 40 million. At that price either would be a safer bet.
