This <ok>

Aye, and I'm sure Lennon was the aura of maturity and responsibility in every dressing room when he was a player.

How the **** does sending a 19 year old out on loan make him a "casualty"?

A wee six month loan deal wouldn't do him any harm anyway.

He scored 2 goals last season ...

    He's 19

So **** if he gets sent out on loan for game time.

I assume - if this is true - then Lennon will be signing another striker.

SOUTHAMPTON striker Billy Sharp is on Neil Lennon’s hitlist as Gary Hooper edges towards the Parkhead exit door.

And SunSport can reveal that long-term targets Charlie Austin of Burnley and Wolves’ Kevin Doyle remain high in Hoops boss Lennon’s thinking.

Top scorer Hooper seems likely to be sold soon in a £5million-plus deal, with Norwich City and QPR vying for his signature and both edging closer to Celtic’s valuation.

SunSport understands West Ham are also considering a move for the frontman who cost Celtic £2.4m in 2010.

The only one that fits the supposed model the club is following is Austin and the guy has a knee problem.

If they sell Hooper and replace him with Sharp or Doyle it's either a lack of ambition or a lack of faith in Lennon.

We'll get lumbered with the usual pish, wait until the last minute and get some loanee who will play 15 games and do **** all.

It's starting to look that way, i'm not normally concerned about Pre season friendlies but our results so far have been appalling, I just hope we pull the finger out in time for Wednesday and get a decent striker signed up.

I don't particularly care if someone is in before Cliftonville. If Samaras, Balde and Stokes can't put in a performance against them then something is seriously wrong.

If Hooper goes for £4-5 million after losing Wanyama for £12.5m and it's Sharp or Doyle they sign then it's a boot in the baws.

I would agree, we need to spend some serious cash (£5m or more) on a foreign striker, we can't just go on watching the club sign prospects (that will hopefully make us a healthy profit) if the money made from their sale is not reinvested at some stage.

Stokes isn't good enough and the signings being looked at aren't good enough....is this a " wait and see if we qualify first " situation ? <-------- actually, no question mark required

I can NEVER see us spending £5m plus on a player for the next few years. I think it'll be a continual stream of players costing 500k to £2.5m, with the added hope that we can sell them on for profit.

I'm not concerned right now, as we should have more than enough firepower to get by Cliftonville, but after that, I could be very concerned.

You know when a player comes in and they don't look fit but you can see that they've got something so you'll give them a bit of leeway to get up to speed?

With that in mind, Amido Balde is a ****ing dud. Feel free to ram it right up me if I'm wrong. I genuinely hope you get that opportunity.

Would Billy Sharp be the first member of the travelling community to don the hoops?

Obviously not, but in a match?

    This <ok>

It's less the rush to buy a player and more the quality and value of the players we're being linked with.

If the club think mince like Sharp and Doyle are the answer then they've got the ****ing question wrong.

I agree, I don't see us spending that kind of money but I would like to see it nevertheless. We have to splash the cash at some stage, even if it's just to reward the fans and give them something to look forward to for this season.

I thought the same about the French dude, Mouyokolo. He makes Majstorovic seem graceful. <ok>

If we are signing a a striker it should be a automatic starter. No more squad fillers.

If we do spend a serious lump sum on a player, I hope it's a 'known' signing, one who will give a bit of impetus to the players already there, rather than go for a player like Fortune.

If we sign Doyle, for example, I'll be starting the season with a permanently clenched ring piece. He's hardly going to have Stokes heading to training an hour early every day.

I'd hope Wanyama leaving will kick Kayal up the arse. If he can get back the performances of his debut season, then he'll be like a new signing <ok>
